What makes me a great caregiver is that I pay attention to details. I do exactly what I'm told, asked and also give advice according to my expertise and I tell the truth about what is needed when it matters. I first started working with elders within my monastery taking care of their basic needs and taking them back and forth to doctor's appointments and following their doctors care of plan. That transmitted to my professional work life as a certified nursing aide, as I work in the nursing homes and also in private home settings. It brings me joy to see those who are in need of help receive the assistance that they need without taking away their dignity and also giving them the extra help that's necessary.... at the same time allowing them to do what they can for themselves. I have a broad range going from helping those with terminal illnesses all the way to those who just need extra assistance around the house. There is no job too big or too small for me to do.

Hello! I started out as a certified nurse aide in the year 1999. I decided to help care for people when helping care for my great grandmother. It felt great to be able to be there for someone in their time of need. I have since cared for so many different types of ailments, diseases and people who need general household help. I've ran errands, did light cleaning, fed, bathed, assisted with walking. Cooked meals, taken them to appointments, also sat as a companion. I've helped others go through hospice care, cancer care, Parkinsons, dementia, alzheimers, sundowners, after surgery care, wound care, broken body parts, stiff body parts...lots of different things. I've been helping the elderly population for 24 years now. I enjoy being there, listening/talking with them, going out to lunch or shopping. Staying in doing puzzles or watching old westerns or just simply being there for them in any way I can. I've spent time with others on holidays as well. It's interesting to spend time with people and hear their life stories of "how it used to be" or to see how town was in the 40's or 50's or back when there was horse & buggy rides to school...enjoy it all. I like to spend my time with my grandbabies also doing crafts or watching my favorite series. Family is everything to me, we all try to be there and help each other as much as we can. I believe a caregiver should be someone that the patient can trust undoubtedly, and be able to bond with. After all we spend so much time with someone in their home everyone needs to be comfortable. I don't just see caring for people as a service but an honor. To be able to get to know someone's life, likes, dislikes and story all make this type of work extremely rewarding. **Will be available full time any hours after May first. Until then times will need to be set up in advance. My other job is 2-10 pm.

I have been a care giver since 2008. I became interested in being a caregiver when my grandmother needed care. She is what drove me in my career. I cannot picture doing anything else as this is what brings me joy. The ability to keep our elderly at home for as long as possible and make sure their needs are met above and beyond is what I strive for.

I'm a loving mom to two children and we live in Canajoharie. I'm finishing up my Bachelor's degree in Technology and thoroughly enjoy taking care of people. I like providing for them to the best of my abilities. I worked in Home Health when I lived in New Hampshire and it was my favorite job as the woman I took care of and myself became very close. I fully believe we all have a calling in life. This happens to be mine. I've been a certified nurses aide since I was 18 years old. I've worked with all facets in which the job could entail. Private and in house facilities. Dementia/Alzheimer's - the blanket of it and it's branches, quad and paraplegic inflicted folks. Colostomy care as well as wound care. The list goes on. However, whatever the aliment, or the the age, we are all people, with feelings and tempers and day to day challenges. Sitting down with someone, hearing stories about their loves and accomplishments, simply giving them time and attention is what I see is most important. The smiles, hugs and love make my job worth it each and every day. I would be happy to sit down and meet you, your family and loved one and see if I am the right fit to help them carry on, when sometimes life seems like it's taking simple tasks away from them and comfort and ease them into a new chapter.
