I'm a very compassionate, loving , kind, intelligent, loyal, dependable, well adjusted , hard working ,trustworthy woman. I have my Stna license. I have first aide . CPR. I've done caregiving since I graduated in 1996. I've always enjoyed knowing I'm making people smile and have a better day. It just takes one person to change the world. Especially with a smile.

I am going on my third year of college, and my third college as well. I am finishing up my surgical nursing degree at Marion Technical College with a Surgical Technician certification and a phlebotomy certification as well. I have spent time in caring for my grandmother while she was in and out of the hospital, and I will provide compassionate care to those who need. My job as a future nurse is to provide comfort and love to patients varying different health conditions. My ideal job profession in the future is to work in hospice as well. When I was younger, I had a heart disease and my life-long goal is to give back to nurses and patients with 110% passionate and sympathetic care.

Being a caregiver has been very rewarding in knowing I am able to make others feel good in their daily lives with assistance of daily living. They feel secure which makes me feel good and proud to assist. I have alot of compassion and heart for anyone.

For me, being a caregiver isn't just a career. It's my calling in life. I feel as though it's what I was put here to do. My very first job at age 18 was as a caregiver for a lady with MS. I cared for her as a live in for nearly three years with one day off weekly. I then moved to direct care for disabled individuals and have accumulated several years experience. I am certified in first aid/ CPR, medication administration, insulin trained, and have a wide path of experience to fall back on. I was also caregiver for my mother for five years until she passed from ALZ. I am currently attending college studying Human and Social Services to better provide for those I work with and for. I believe that being a caregiver requires a special individual, just as special as those I care for. I have always felt that the individuals I have met and worked with have each been a blessing in their own way and I am the lucky one for having them in my heart and life. I view my clients as family, nothing less. I am dedicated, sincere, patient, full of good humor, not easily upset, and my greatest joy is making others happy. That's the biggest benefit of all. I am great at everything i do. Very out going and i have a deep care for other's. Nursing is not about the rate of pay, I believe it is about compassion for other's . I love what I do. And to be apart of someones life and provide exceptional care. I am a mother of 3 , hard working and very friendly. At every care position i have held i have received multiple rewards and recognition from the care I give. I do not feel inadequate in any aspect of my life, training or my abilities as a caregiver/ nurse.

I feel I am a great caregiver because I have all my life cared for ones; beginning with being the middle of seven children I was responsible for caring for those under me and then into marriage; I cared for 4 children. After my divorce I continued caring for my four children at the same time living with my elderly grandmother of 93, who had Aleizmiers and her sister, 88 who had breast cancer. Working closely with different agencies including Hospice, I was able to give them the quality care they deserved for as long as I was able to do so. I also have a friend who has MS and she lived right across the hallway from me and I have over the last four years enjoyed helping and caring for her. I have a heart for the hurting and disable. I understand the challenges involved in caring for them and would like to pursue a career in this field. What I like about being a caregiver is being able to make them smile, to remove for a season of time the reality of their present state and help them see a lighter side to life. I combine care with comedy and wit and make what is work - now relationship. When I came to take care of my grandmother she was pretty unrespondent to everyone. After about a month there, she would talk more and she began singing. She still didn't know who I was, but her who demeanor had changed and she was more pleasant and cooperative. I've always had a heart for the wounded and sick since a young teenager. It all started when I became a volunteer at our local hospital, I particularly love working with the elderly. I've taken care of both my parents I've lost and have had past Home Health Care Nursing Home experience. I am an honest dependable worker and keeping my word is so important to me. To me it is a job that I would do for free anyways.
