It all stared when I was 13 years old my grandmother had dementia. I hope take care of her during this summer, and came back every weekend to be with her.. I love a challenge. I love people. I've been doing home health care on and off for the last 10 years.

I've been involved in multiple types of care ranging from child care as I am also a mother of three, senior care, post-surgery (All ages-mandatory and elective), care Hospice care, respite relief care. Hi, My name is DeDe. I specialize in ALS clients. This experience led me to my true passion. Over the last 7 years I have worked with 10 different families who dealt with ALS. From stage 1-stage 4. Just because you are living with this crazy disease that doesn't mean you can't live a normal life. When I walk into a family's homes. I walk in with a positive attitude with a big smile on my face to ease the pain of all the troubles they are going through right now. I have worked in private homes, group homes, etc. My desire is for excellence, quality and most importantly "LIFE", and to provide individualized care to each of my clients with the utmost dignity and respect. I enjoy the opportunity to impact my clients' lives in a positive way. I appreciate the chance to get to know clients and their families and become an integral part of their lives. I always give 100% and do the best job I can with no exceptions and no excuses. I take care of my clients physically, mentally and emotionally to enable them to have the best quality of life possible. 1. I'm a vary patience and compassionate with what each client is going through. I myself have been in situations to place me in a position to have 24hr care. Having respect as well as empathy helps makes everyone feel comfortable and secure with a new face in the comfort of their home. 2. It's vary rewarding helping someone who is unable to fully care for him/herself, Just making people's lives easier. As a young child I myself was sick so I watched just how much time and love my mother and father showed made me realize I too shared the gift of helping those in need. 3. I love most is seeing the smile I put on each and every persons face that crosses my path. I love what I was chosen to do. 4. Recovering from a 15 ft fall that I was told I would never be able to walk the same, do the job I did before nor the activities I onced loved, I loved myself back to health. Learning how to walk, use the restroom, run and go back to work has been one of the most personal achievement I have ever accomplished.

What makes me an amazing caregiver is my ability to show empathy, compassion, love, and willingness to do whatever it takes to make sure my client is taken care of like they are my own family! I have seen the consequences of people not taking pride in this line of work and it really makes me work harder to give my residence the care that I one day hope to receive. I will always go the extra mile even on a hard day. I think what attracted me most to being in this line of work is my ability to make a difference in the lives that I touch each day! My favorite part of this job is coming in and getting to know my clients. Their likes, dislikes, favorite food, activities, their families, I love learning about what makes them who they are! With that being said, it is not only a great way to exercise companionship, but also allows me to have a better understanding of their behaviors and how to help them cope if one has been diagnosed with dementia or Alzheimer's! At the end of the day, as much as we may want to, we cannot always be with our loved ones which is why it is so important to find care that treats them as their own! If I am able to make someone's time with me a little brighter with a smile, or their favorite meal, or even with a fun activity than I can rest a little easier at night knowing I am making a special impact on the ones we love and adore most!!
