Thats where my passion really began, as a youg girl I would go with my mom to work in the nursing homes and i knew from there that thats what i wanted to pursue in life. I received my BA from Virginia Commonwealth University and I am currently working on my masters at Mary Baldwin University. I work a full-time at home job and am looking to pick up a few hours working as a CNA. I am laid back and easy going. My clients like me because I allow them to do whatever they're able to do. I only help them to keep them safe. I feel my client find their autonomy one of the most important things they have left. I love this work. I feel like I'm an important part of these people's lives. The one thing I hate is when I have to leave them for one reason or another.

I have been a Caregiver for both young and old for over twenty years, and now that I have earned my Certified Nurse Assistant certification from Hagerstown Community College, licensed with Maryland Board of Nursing as a CNA (license #: A00190777) and am soon to be registered with Maryland Board of Nursing as a Geriatric Nurse Assistant after having passed the state exam. I love making a different in the lives of others.after taking care of my grand mother i developed the ability to care for people in need.When I came to the state in 1985 this was the job I acquired and I have being doing it ever since.I had worked in the nursing home setting,,hospital, and private homes. I have a positive impact on my client I smile a lot I'm open to communicate with my client, listened to there concern encouraged them making decisions if the can and to involve them in there care plan.i give ADL care, good hygiene,,cooked, do laundry, serve there meal but if client needs assistance with feeding I will do it. I do client shopping, take client out for recreation, make drs' appointment and take them to there appointment, medications remainder,or administered medications, reports any concerns to family member who is POA.It rewarding when you see your client condition is improving.Care giver job is rewording when you bond with your client and the built trust in you.

I am a young ambitious female trying to work her way through the medical field. I started taking care of adult with mental disabilities when I was 18 and have continued on that track. I love helping others and seeing someone else thrive is my true passion. I am willing to help anyone succeed, and I hope I am part of the reason why they did. I am proud to say I have earned my CNA, and CMA license and I intend to put them to good use helping others.

I became a Caregiver because after working over 19 years in custumer service/sales, I wanted to do something that would allow me to give back to society instead of taking from it. I wanted to offer my help to those who needed it the most. The best thing about being a caregiver is seeing the smiles on my client's faces when I come in to work or picking up the phone and hearing them on the other end asking how was my day when I was off from work. I enjoy taking my client's new places and introducing them to new things; such as, the zoo, amusement parks, museums, and even swimming.
