It's hard to talk about ourselves but I'll give it a try, I was introduced to caregiving by a family member since that day I went and got my self in school to get my cna certification later on I also received my dsp certification. This career is very rewarding for me, helping people and providing support to the people that needed the most is what I enjoy doing the most. I personally like watching movies, going on walks, and cooking.

I am naturally maternal being the oldest of 3 boys and being the only girl in my family. I don't have any kids of mine own so being a caregiver fulfills those maternal needs in a way of providing care to others. I love to cook and give my residents a great meal. What attracted me to being a caregiver was the growth within the companies that I can continue on with. Also caregiving just came naturally to me because I helped take care of my grandpa who was in his late 80's from the ages of 13-adulthood I helped take care of my great grandpa who lived with us. I carried that into my job field, and it just came naturally to me. I enjoy being a person there who they trust and know they can count of for good quality care. Nothing makes me more happy than hearing "thank god you're here" because that feeling of being trusted by my residents to make the right choices and be there for them really means a lot to me. A personal achievement I have is learning how to bake and cook better for my resident's. Also becoming ultimately stronger as a person when handling these intense emergency situations, they'll prepare you for the real world and real scenarios and that has made me more confident in my day to day life.

As a caregiver one of my main traits is concern for the client! The client is always main priority in every situation and I like to show that as often as possible!

I feel I am a great caregiver because, I absolutely love making people happy, well, and alive. I am a very honest, trustworthy person, and I except nothing less from others. I have great respect for others, and their privacy. I have had my CNA license for 6 years, and I did home health for 10 years, with a few extra training courses including, Dementia & Alzheimer's training, wound care, medicine and 1 year internship for Mortuary School. I am a quick learner and follow instructions given. I keep a daily log of all events, meds given, and give full daily reports when requested. I am aware of all HIPPA laws and abide by them. I am reachable at all times on or off the work schedule provided. I am willing to work extra hours/shifts in all situations. I feel like I am caring, loving and patient individual, I like to care for others that need care, I have an hear to listen when someone needs someone to talk to, I don't mind helping others, it's a part of my trait. I once was going to school for nursing, but didn't finish, so I worked in the acute hospital and convalescent home, plus in-home care for quite a while. I love caring for the sick and disable. I like to try and help and encourage others to get better and not to quit. I saw a friend of mine hold on after she was diagnosed with breast cancer, when the doctor's had given up on her, that I was there to encourage her to not give up and she lived a healthy life for a little of two more years, when the the breast cancer attacked her again, and she was tired and gave up and died.

I enjoy being a caregiver because it brings me a lot of joy to help someone that is in need. I enjoy working with the public and developing great relationships and providing outstanding care. I am dedicated and compassionate caregiver. I am patient and understanding I will always provide professional caring service with a gentle touch. I realized I fell in love with caregiving when going to work was less of work feeling and more of a it makes me happy feeling. I love my job because of my residents. They are what make it worth while for me. The type of serotonin I get from it makes for an amazing caregiving as myself. The bond I have held and compassion for my residents is on another level. They are my pride and joy and I love them so much. I have so much compassion in what I do and I am proud of what I do. That is what makes a good caregiver. I am patient with them and I try and understand their needs and wants. You need to have empathy as I have for them. I enjoy spending time with my residents but what I love most is seeing them heal. As I am also in a rehabilitation center, I strive to make them healthier and visually seeing that they are getting better makes me feel so happy.
