Hi! My name is Nikki I am 25 years old, I graduate in May with my AA in health science. I plan on transferring to SJSU to get my BSN. What attracted me to be a caregiver is my passion for helping others and helping me gain more day to day knowledge on my way to my future career.

I have been working in the medical field for over 25 years..I became a caregiver to my first clientt in 2011 and soon realized I was meant to do Caregiving to our Special Seniors or whomever may need this type of care .My first client eventually was in a nursing home for a period of 1 month. During that time, I had the desire to return to school and became a CNA. I truly enjoyed all the training and the experience that I received. I acquired a job with Visiting Angels in 2013. I have had some awesome experiences working with our senior citizens. I also have a daughter who is now 18 and has had a medical condition since she was 5 months old. I believe all of the experiences that I have had help me to be a very compassionate caregiver to my clients and my clients family. I at times have stayed in touch with family members even after their loved one has passed away. I have been working as a Nursing Assistant at our local Hospital for over a year and a half..I Love my position in taking care of those who need help while in the hospital..My daughter is now 20 and my oldest 23..Each BLESS my life daily!!

I know what makes me a great caregiver is that I genuinely liove what I do. They say in life every person has something great they are great at doing, I am proud to say that this is what I am great at, I truly enjoy it. I've been caregiving since I was 17 so it's been a long time,. I love being able to help someone get through the day with dignity and still have a positive outlook for the next day. I love conversations with people that I take care of. I love hearing stories about what life was like in past . times.

I have 12 years in the care giving field .I work with dementia .stroke patients..I have also been a companion..I am familiar with several different types of needs..I am also a state licensed phlebotomist with years of experience .I am very efficient kind and gentle with all of my patients...

I am native to San Jose, I am a 3rd generation born in San Jose. I have been in the medical field for 38yrs. 25 yrs just doing home care. Caring for the elderly and being an advocate for them has been in my heart for many years. I have enjoyed working with them and have been blessed to share many of their journeys. I have encountered hundreds of elderly over the years, and have learned much from them. As the years pass, I will continue to serve those who are sick, elderly, or are coming to an end of their own journey. All though I prefer a live-in position, I am also available for hourly work at this time, with a 6 to 8 hr. minimum a day. If you have any additional questions for me, please feel free to ask.

some of my personality traits and expertise that help me be a great caregiver include, I like enjoy taking care of people and helping them out and expanding my learning of care giving. What attracted me to being a caregiver is caring for other people and taking care of them, the thought that I'd be helping people and taking care of them and making their days better is what attracted me to becoming a caregiver. what i enjoy most about being a caregiver is, seeing them be happy and knowing that I could help their days be better.
