What's makes a great Caregiver is someone that has compassion for what they do. That comes with being honest, genuine, patient, and loving. I believe I am all those and more. I always try to connect with people, make memories and become a part of their life. I love to read, write, and I absolutely love puzzles. I have been a certified nursing assistant for a year now, with that CNA license I also carry a certified medication aides license giving me the ability to administer medication as well. I am going to school at JCCC and I do work as well. Mostly during the day. I've had multiple different kinds of experience with allot of people. I have had experience with residents that have had a g-tube, I have personal experience when it comes to that. I also have experience with trachea, a colostomy, someone being paralyzed, and also residents that have Dementia. I love my job and what I do. Being able to make memories with those that I see everyday makes my heart glow. The achievement that I am most proud of is escaping a harsh environment with my child by my side. And finding a passion I long for which is making others smile. Doing the best I can as a mother, a caregiver. And a friend.

I was the only girl in my family, and I lost my mom ten years ago and I feel that I did not had enough time to care for her, so I like giving my services to the elderly because I see them like my mom. I also like giving my services to those who are not able to care for themselves because it is a blessing from God to give services to tho who can not help themselves. I also like giving my services the the elderly because one day I will need the same services they need. So if it is not me to provide those services to them, who else will do it. It starts with me first.

My name is Lucinda (Cindy). I worked in care homes taking care of elderly residents for 27 years. I also worked at a hospital as a CNA for four years. And I recently worked as a DSP in a group home setting for special needs clients. Unfortunately I had to quit because the schedule no longer was working for me. I enjoy helping and caring for people. It is something I have done most of my life.

I am loving and truly care about the well being of others. I like having the opportunity to make an impact in the lives of others. I am proud to have finished my Associates degree while playing competitive tennis in Kansas City. I am a small town pastors daughter that enjoys helping others.

My most core values are insuring respect and dignity. I believe all people have the right to make choices in all areas of their life. I encourage people to follow their care plan and work in tandem with them rather than dictate what they need to do. I understand that many people receiving care may feel loss of control in their lives and I work hard to understand their interests, concerns, and ideas and I am very creative in helping them to have experiences that fulfill those desires. It took me one month to complete the CNA training at Kansas College of Nursing. I earned the CNA certificate of training from Kansas College of Nursing after completion.) I have 1 week experience of clinical at a nursing home (long-term health care facility, specifically, Indian Creek Healthcare, Overland Park, KS) and earned my NATCEP Task checklist that verifies that I can assist with moving a resident from wheelchair to a bed safely, change briefs after incontinence, assist to the bathroom, make beds, give showers, etc. Note: I can only remind the resident to take medications. I am also a piano accompanist at Korean United Presbyterian Church of Kansas from 2014 to current. I can play the piano for my clients. 4. I am a male. I am a devout Christian. Having worked with a wide range of afflictions such as cancer, Alzheimer, Dementia, Diabetes's, Parkinson's, hospice and more I have found building a client relationship with the whole being rather than disease focused creates a mutual trust and respect. Always a learning experience is gained through time spent. I provide medication management, light housekeeping, meal preparation, bathing assistance in working with family to provide a custom plan which best benefits the client. As my experience has became varied, so has the process of care and relationships as well.
