Hi my name is Cassandra I am a type 1 diabetic. I have always had an interest in the health field and helping others since I was little. I really enjoy helping people who need an extra hand in everyday living it is very rewarding for me to see someone smile and have that relief that they don't always have to do everything on their own that there is always someone there willing to lend a helping hand. Having a disease like diabetes has really pushed me into wanting to work in the health field. I am currently trying to get my STNA so I can continue my journey working with and helping others.

Welcoming you with warm wishes. Just wanted to share alittle about me. I'm 34 yrs old. I've worked since age 14yrs. My mom was a single mom raising 3 kids. I enjoyed working hard and I have always been a giving hearted person. I remember I used to get my paychecks an was so excited I was able to but my mom dinner from a days hard of work. I was first introduced to an entry level position in the State of Kansas as a Residential Trainer for people who face physical and mental challenges and I did that for 3 years. It was so rewarding. Very hard work but I have always been very open to learning new things and I enjoy challenges. If we stay in where were comfortable. The you limit yourself from learning and doing what you can to be the hands and feet for Gods kingdom. After doing that for 3 yrs I decided to get my nurses aide license and doing that for so many years has been such a wonderful opportunity. I absolutely love my elders and I AM THE VOICE WHO SPEAKS UP FOR THEM. I believe that there is way too many people shoved in a room with a facility that lacks sufficient staffing to give the residents attention to give them the essentials like a regular bath and hygiene and clothes put on. I've seen too much of the THE BAD AND THE UGLY in institutions and to me that's NO WAY for anyone to live or spend there retirement in. I love talking and sharing stories, praying, I enjoy providing exceptional care to all clients I come in contact. I'm very friendly. My passion in life is people going above and beyond the call of duty. I'm flexible and reliable as I dont have any kids. Just 3 sweet dogs. I became a caregiver because I love to take care of people I enjoy meeting new people and I am dependable and reliable I like to make sure the client has what him or her needs I also like to let them do things for themselves as much as they can I am a good listener I do light housekeeping and errands and personal care I also like to take the clients for walks if the weather is nice I like being a caregiver because I like to give back and help whoever needs help.

I was a professional caregiver on and off since 1975. I am compassionate and well trained in caregiving. I enjoy spending time with those I care for and meeting their needs. I enjoy doing something I love and also being able to get paid for it. I have held awards for caregiver of the year from a job and promoted to head supervisor in a nursing home I worked in for many years.

I am going on my third year of college, and my third college as well. I am finishing up my surgical nursing degree at Marion Technical College with a Surgical Technician certification and a phlebotomy certification as well. I have spent time in caring for my grandmother while she was in and out of the hospital, and I will provide compassionate care to those who need. My job as a future nurse is to provide comfort and love to patients varying different health conditions. My ideal job profession in the future is to work in hospice as well. When I was younger, I had a heart disease and my life-long goal is to give back to nurses and patients with 110% passionate and sympathetic care.
