I am a caregiver for 30 +yrs.i love what i do, though challenging at times i treasure my work.i was the baby of 4 my Mom had a massive stroke and as the baby of the 4 i, along with my husband cared for her at home. She was total care and i had 2 small chilren at the time as i said it was challanging i reflect on that time as a privlege because i had a wonderful mother and she cared for me as a child when i couldn't care for my self and now it was my turn to return the love and care she gave me as a child. In addition , my husband and i also care for my father as well as both of his parents. As i said before it was a privlege to care for all our parents that is one of my greatest achievements.

I always like taking care of other people. I like helping them do thing they use to do by themselves but now become difficult to do along, cleaning, groceries shopping, doctor appointments, etc. Also I like hearing the stories of their lives and giving them comfort. I take care for everything and anything they need. I have been there unconditionally with every person I had work with and they have become like family. I'm a person who is devoted to her job. I raise 2 children, a girl and a boy, and now I live along . For almost 7 years I was the main caregiver to 89 year old lady who passed away. The last four years I took care for a lady with Alzheimer's. I have been caring for older people for 17 years and still enjoying doing so. I'm bilingual English and Spanish. Reference and background check at interview.

If Someone asked me to tell them who I am by my life experience, I would have to say I've always been a Caregiver. In fact I really think that God put within me the traits needed to fulfill what my purpose in life would be, to Care for people. Empathy and Compassion for the struggles and needs of people, come from the difficult times I've had throughout my life and gratitude for those who came along to mentor and offer compassion to me. Being a Caregiver has been a natural progression from being a caregiver first to my family... Three of my Grand Parents had Alzheimer's disease, I helped provided care for all three. I have three grown children and five grandchildren, they all live in different states now with their families. When my children were young I operated my own State Licensed Home Daycare for many years. I have been a substitute teacher and teachers aid for grades K-7. I received my Teachers certificate from Moody Bible Institute 1981. I also home schooled my own children for a few years. The final decision to use this passion for people and pursue the training to be a professional caregiver, came at a crisis point in my life when I became the caregiver and legal guardian/conservator for my youngest son who at the age of 24 was hit by a van and was hospitalized for 2 1/2 months for a Traumatic Brain Injury. He was in a coma for a month with two years of rehabilitation after leaving the hospital. Going through that traumatic experience with my son also put me around many other people experiencing life changing events, whom I was able to help by encouraging and giving information I learned along the way. After my son got out of the hospital I went back to school and took training to be a Certified Medical Assistant, I have been using that experience, training and knowledge for the last 7 years as a in home caregiver in MI and FL.

I'd like to say that I ALWAYS receive much more from the patient's that I care for in the form of wisdom and, a different way of viewing life. The elderly have so many life experiences to offer if we will just listen! I've always wanted to be in the nursing field (my mom was a nurse). I find it so very rewarding to help the sick & especially the elderly from a simple smile or, seeing their faces light up upon you walking into the room. We need to remember that "WE" will be in their shoes one day.

My belief is empathy is the #1 core characteristic of an excellent caregiver. I often question if this is inherent within us or this is something which can be learned. I tend to believe it’s a lot of inherent and a big mix of environment. I also believe there are degrees of empathy. Some can empathize more than others. If you can totally put yourself in the place of who you are caring for, you will do nothing but provide excellent care. Imagine being unable to obtain your own meal, bathe yourself, get dressed, or go to the bathroom independently. Imagine the feelings involved when you lose that independence and have to ask for help. Imagine having no one to count on when you need them.Besides children, most care recipients are elderly. As we age our bodies no longer move the way they used to. Add an injury, or physical illness and movement is more difficult, slower and may be painful.

I love caring for others. I am reliable, compassionate, and loyal to all of my clients. I believe in giving my all to the ones I care for, and it is the most rewarding thing I do in my life. I truly care about my clients and their needs. I am very dedicated, meticulous, goal oriented, positive, and hard working. My word is my honor. I am very caring and loving to all. My motto... Just be love. I am often told by people, I am the most patient person they have ever met. I just treat others how I would want to be treated, and how I would want my loved ones to be treated. I love to help people, lift their spirits, and bring them joy. I have lots of experience in what I do. I have been a caregiver for many year and efficiency is a must for me. I cook, shop, clean, bathe, run errands, and I will take you on outings wherever you want to go, whether it is for business, or just for fun. Whatever you need I do my best to fulfill. I aim to please. I have helped many elderly people get back on their feet after surgeries and illness. I had one client that was given six months to live, and I ended up caring for her for nine years! She just needed TLC! I thoroughly enjoy comfort care also for the elderly. There is nothing more rewarding to me than to make others happy and make their lives better. I live to help and serve others in any way I can. If your looking for an honest, hardworking, and reliable individual I am here for you. God bless and be with you in your venture to find the perfect individual to serve your needs, whether it be for you personally, or for your loved one.
