I'm a great caregiver because I love taking care of people. The reason I became a caregiver was because of my grandmother and my stepmom. As a young girl I had to help my stepmom she had diabetes. She didn't take very good care of herself and had to have her legs amputated. So of course I helped her with her baths, get dressed even though we had nurse to come to our home. Then there was my grandma she had cancer of bladder so I assisted her with doctor appointment and few chores around the house. What I'm most proud of and achievement is being a great parent, terrific and loving grandmother, and a very dedicated , and loyal wife. My family is very important to me.

I started in the medical field at the age of 16, because Iknew that that was what i wanted to do. I continued on when I went to the air force working with my fellow soldiers, when I came back home I have worked in Drs office , and ultimately working for elderly and Hospice. I am upbeat, patient and understanding. I am also very sensitive (every one tells me that as well) I am always the helper or want to fix things. I worked with the very young population ages 2-5 with severe/profound special needs. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The only downside is when one of my young children passed away. Unfortunately it was quite often with the amount of care they needed. I had been working with a small child one to one for 2 years, from age 2-4 I was devastated when I came in to work looking forward to her smiling face, just to find out she had passed. Needless to say I was an emotional wreck and realized it was too much for me and it's something I could never get used to (as they say). I decided to care for the elderly as they need help to be as independent as possible. If I can put a smile on their face or help them stay independent as long as they can, then I am happy. When my papa passed away from Alzheimer's and dementia is when I wanted to give back to anyone struggling with this awful disease. I realized how rewarding it was for me. One thing I am most proud of is being able to get through to the hardest of residents when no other staff member could. When all the staff that was assigned to care for her would call on me to take care of them.. that is a good feeling.

Love service and great with people. Like to know and learn from them. My dad was my first patient and I love to see happy and comfortable . Then my brother looking at them and their necessities just looking foreword to take classes and help anyone with love and patience I'm proud of me when and the end of the day go home and complete my work
