Palliative Care Caregivers in Garden City - 11 caregivers found

CG for about 12 years. I help them with assistant daily living, medication, check sugar, inject insulin, companionship, cooking and yard work, doc appointment, some errands, light housekeeping.

I have found that my passion/calling is to care for the elderly and/or individuals, who can't do so for themselves. My heart is overwhelmed with genuine happiness when providing care and/or maintaining a personal relationship with each resident, client, and/or patient. I sincerely love fulfilling my heart's desires & passion by providing care, love, companionship, friendship, and even medical care to individuals; resulting in them having a sense of peace, as they go through life changes and having to deal with situations that may be unfamiliar. I find that doing so & providing the utmost respectful care to each of them, brings forth a growth for even myself, as I continue my education into becoming an RN (later to bridge into Nurse Practitioner). Daily, I am seeking the latest knowledge and skill so hopefully I can improve my care traits daily, to a wider/higher demand of clients. I am most definitely proud of a personal achievement in my life pertaining to my husband (who was diagnosed with late stages of Testicular cancer twice)! After receiving a prognosis of 18 months, I decided to further my education & resources, in hopes to find more options....and I did! After nearly 2 years, he is now in remission & cancer-free! This is not to boast about what I did, but instead the 'determination, drive, & passion', that I was blessed with. I will ALWAYS go above & beyond in providing the best care for clients & their family members! I believe there is always room for growth and in order to do so, you must first humble yourself to what you were called to do, whatever that may be!

I am a very caring ,patient ,compassionate, dependable and i provide care from my heart. I've always cared for other people and loved doing it. I enjoy putting a smile on my clients face just uplifting their spirits just warms my heart. A personal achievement I'm proud of is starting my own home care service.

What makes me a great caregiver? It is passion for helping people. I first knew that I wanted to care for people when my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer when I was 18 years old. I took care of my two younger brothers. Since then, I have been caring for people. My heart goes out to those who can't take care of themselves, that is why I do everything in my power to make the ones I care for feel like they exist and to have purpose in life. It makes me feel so good to know that I can make somebody feel so good about him or her self.

Hi I'm Terri and I'm an experience caregiver for over 15 years. My duties are making Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner, give medications, and sponge baths. I also do laundry, light housekeeping, run errands and communicate with patients daily. I'm dependable, loyal and caring. My first job was taking care of my grandmother in her home. I enjoyed watching tv shows and laughing with her. I took care of her about 2 years before she passed away. This 1 job in Irondale for 4 years with Mrs. Hill it was like I was part of the family I was invited to everything with the family. I loved Mrs. Hill and she loved me and she enjoyed her life until her very last day. My accomplishment is making my patients feel special, and cared for everyday. I love taking care of the elderly helping them accomplish daily task they couldn't do without me.

I have been a certified nursing assistant for 3 years. I became a a caregiver because I love helping others. I have a heart of gold. At the end of my day it feels good to be able to say helped someone an they was taken care of the way I would expect my family to be cared for. I treat everyone as if they are my own family. I have two special needs children of my own, I am 100% positive that I will exceed your expectations in caring for your loved one. it takes a special person with a great amount of live, compassion and patience. My son is almost 10, he has a rare genetic deletion which allowed all these mental/physical health problems. he was diagnosed at 9 months old with bilateral retinoblastoma and underwent 8 rounds of chemo and radiaton and had to have a central line that I had to be trained on how to flush daily and change his site dressing . He also has low functioning autism , he's still in diapers at 10, non verbal, blind in his right eye from the cancer. My daughter is almost 8 and was born with a genetic problem as well. She's has teribleood swings, ADHD, seizures and other mental problems. Sorry if I have over explained I just feel that some of you would like to know that I walk in the same steps as many of you do on a daily basis.

My name is Takiyah I am 21 years old with two kids. I am very great with kids and I love being around them. I had the opportunity to give birth to one normal child. I have a special needs son who is 2 years old that can't walk or talk and has to receive his feeds by his gastrostomy tube. Having a special needs son, nephew, and brother with all similar conditions is what made feel like I am the perfect fit for being a caregiver.
