Hello, Although I have a degree/career in the operating room assisting surgeons with surgeries..........I have found my passion in making a tremendous difference in the quality & care of one's life by caregiving and nursing career. My grandparents played a tremendous role in my life (whom I also cared for at the end of their long lives) and I have always been very comfortable & fond of elderly, and geriatric people. I became a CNA/HHA at age 17.I have always wanted to work in the medical field to help others.I have worked in several facilities as a caregiver working my way to become a med.tech,supervisor and cottage manager.I have worked for a number of families as well.Most recently, i cared for my mother for a period of 5 years+, untill her death at age 95 on 11/11/15. My personality traits that make me a great caregiver would be that I am empathetic, compassionate, and extremely patient. I was attracted to becoming a caregiver as I saw the need of companionship and time to which most family members couldn't afford to give their own time. I enjoy learning new things about each individual. New challenges are welcome head-on. Personal achievement I am most proud of would be learning that I was placed on this earth to be a Great Caregiver with over 20 years of personal experience.

I think my dependability helps me be a great caregiver. I was attracted to caregiving as a young child when my little sister came home from the NICU with a caregiver to assist my mother with her care. Patient interaction is something that I enjoy the most. My proudest achievement thus far aside from my children would be becoming a Nurse.

I am interested in people's history and personal stories. I have raised my child to his now adulthood which taught me to multitask. Others say I am kind and patient. Since marriage to my (late) good husband I helped him through his various episodes of kidney failure since an early age. I am the one of 6 sisters who always lived nearest to my parents. Therefore I was usually the one to help them in their elderly years. As my mother's health declined I learned the importance that she regularly take her medicine. If possible I encourage my clients to get outside for at least a little while. I like to make sure they move around the house & get daily exercise. I notice that degenerative folks need hope, compassion and companionship so they can enjoy the small moments of each day.
