The reason for becoming a caregiver is that I wanted more 1 to 1 interactions with patients being that working at the hospital patients come and go and it's extremely difficult to build relationships. I have since taken care of a patient (hired privately) for 3 years and she has now passed. Ever since I was a little kid, I love to help people. I took Medical School, but I couldn't finish it, because of our financial situation. It started when my Dad, who was my HERO, got a stroke in 1987. Me, my Mom and my sister took care of him until he passed away. As a care giver, I always treat all my clients as my own parents and grandparents. I don't want them to be treated badly. I want them to be treated with love. Being a care giver, I learned a lot from my clients too. I really enjoy all their stories. What makes me a great care giver is that I always treat my clients with love and patient, which I know I would like to be treated. And always give all of their needs.

In terms of handling a patient, I can say I have a lot of patience and perseverance. I can easily communicate and give rapport for them. For experience,I worked in a care home before so the task for medication, preparing food, monitoring the vital signs, assessing the patient was not hard for me. I can assure that I can give my best for taking care of my patient.

Im a hardworking and willing to learn and listen. I've been working with elederly man and even works with a paralized man before so I really know how to deal when its about lifting patients.

I enjoy providing companionship and outmost care to every person I am with. I have also a great deal of medical experience. I am proficient in basic skills: personal hygiene like showers/bath, oral care, toileting, back-rub, dressing; Assists in activities of daily living such as serving & feeding, ambulating, positioning, transferring, administer meds & nutritional supplements, dressings surgical prep; Do & record vital sign: blood pressure, weight, pulse, temperature, finger pricking for sugar levels in diabetics; Measure & record food & liquid intake, urinary & fecal output and report changes. Encourage patient to exercise. Review & ask dietary restrictions, preferences, & allergies. Change bed linens, replace trash bags. Always check expiration of food & medicines. Know vital information about patient's condition, treatment plan & any suggested activity.. In a capsule, it is very important to respond immediately to patient's call for assistance and/or treatment with the goal of creating a safe, effective environment to make a difference in the lives of the patient & their families. Patience is a virtue inherent in me. I always work above & beyond my duty for the comfort & safety of my patients. I would be very glad to be of service as I have an extensive experience in the medical field.
