HELLO, my name is Tiara . I've been a nurse aide for about 7years now . I love my work I love helping and being there for other people . Being the oldest on both sides of the family I have a lot of younger siblings that I used to always take care of . And it had its battles but I've grown to love doing it , which led me to helping the elderly . Also my aunt is a RN . So she played a part in wanting me to do nursing . What I love most about being a caregiver is seeing the smiles on residents faces when you talk to them or ask them questions about their life growing up . I've got alot of really cool answers and learned alot . My personal achievement im proud of was becoming a caregiver . I mean it speaks for itself.

Some things about me and why I became a care giver. I love to give a helping hand to someone who needs it. When I help others it teachs me new ways to view life. Being a caregiver isn't just being a helper its about being a friend and a good listener also being able to understand how others view life and what makes them smile and what makes them happy. I have been certified as a LPN since 2012, from Centura College, as well as worked in a home care setting for the past 9 years. My life's work is helping aging or disabled persons safely manage and enjoy an active lifestyle, while maintaining their independence. I also help develop care plans tailored to the needs of you or your family member. I have created a staff to service the seniors and disabled person of the Hampton Roads community with personal, companion, senior, disabled, companion, recovery, and assisted living care. We at Tidewater Helping Hands LLC insure clean background checks, clean driving records, to be first aid and CPR certified, and most of all the BEST home care in the Hampton Roads area. I hire and train caregivers on a case by case basis to specialize in allowing clients recovering from illness or injury to resume their normal activities as quickly as possible or give those facing lifelong challenges the help they need with everyday tasks.

I became a caregiver years ago. First doing daycare in my home. Then taking care of my terminally ill husband. Next I ran into a legally blind friend that I cared for until he passed. Found I enjoyed the work and that it was very rewarding. It brings me great joy to be with someone and help them through their golden days to the end.

Im a positive outgoing person and full of energy maybe to much. That's one of the reasons why I feel I can make a difference in others lives. I have enough positivity and energy to share with everyone. While being in highschool I took a nursing class which allowed me to volunteer at the nursing home near my school which was amazing to me ! Everyone said I loved it way more than I should but they don't get to see the most amazing things that come from helping others! I also went to a elementary school that was down the road from my school which allowed me to volunteer with special education and pre development with pre schoolers. That also was so amazing im so lucky I had the chance to do that and or be allowed. So with all that I decided to go to Tide Water Community college in Virginia Beach and get my CNA. Which was the best choice I ever made. I will be finished by October 31 or November 10 we're waiting for an evaluator to pick up our testing date. While taking this class I have been doing clinicals at a nursing home near the school. I wasn't there long and after two days I had already fallen in love with all the residents. I love helping people and Its something that comes naturally to me. I love how they become family and to me it's helping me learn how to appreciate the little things in life. You also meet amazing people that having amazing story's. So I hope that you take me in to consideration because I promise I'll treat your family like it's my own.

As a caregiver, I am very passionate about my jobs and strive to have the best relationship possible with my patients and their family. I am compassionate, patient, understanding and reliable with good communication, work ethic, and time management. Being chronically ill myself, I was always intrigued with healthcare and providing support for others in need, but I also have a soft spot for the elderly which makes my job so rewarding. My favorite part about being a caregiver is the bond I am able to build with my patient.
