My background and how I became who I am today. I was a preschool teacher for 14 years with the same school. St Peters Episcopal Day School. Which I loved doing, In the month of October 2016 my dad who is retired Navy 22 yrs and retired NewportNews shipbuilding 27 yrs was diagnosed with advanced progressed ALS Lou Gherings disease. After being diagnosed he went bed-bound in two months. My mom had to retire also. I quit my job and I took such good care of my dad. I have references of the doctors and nurses that came to our home and asked if I was a nurse. I keped everything organized and neat and clean I educated my self and learned so much. My dad was a complicated patient. As the ALS progressed so fast he required a non invasive ventilator to help him breath, he had a peg tube "G"tube for food and water because he could not swallow safely , a chronic Foley catheter also a nephrostomy tube coming to drain urine from his kidney. I am very proud for the work that I did for caring for my dad. I also have lots of wound care experience. I enjoyed taking care of my dad, that when he did pass away Sept 2 2018 that I got my certification to care for the elderly and critically ill paitents. I flew through school because I had already taken care of the worst for two years. I enjoy caring for him so much that he has enlightened me on a whole new career path. My rate for pay is negotiable.

HELLO, my name is Tiara . I've been a nurse aide for about 7years now . I love my work I love helping and being there for other people . Being the oldest on both sides of the family I have a lot of younger siblings that I used to always take care of . And it had its battles but I've grown to love doing it , which led me to helping the elderly . Also my aunt is a RN . So she played a part in wanting me to do nursing . What I love most about being a caregiver is seeing the smiles on residents faces when you talk to them or ask them questions about their life growing up . I've got alot of really cool answers and learned alot . My personal achievement im proud of was becoming a caregiver . I mean it speaks for itself.

I'm a very compassionate individual with a great personality and calm spirit. My current patients/clients would describe me as "part of the family." Helping people has always been a passion of mines and this field gives me a sense of fulfillment. I became a caregiver years ago. First doing daycare in my home. Then taking care of my terminally ill husband. Next I ran into a legally blind friend that I cared for until he passed. Found I enjoyed the work and that it was very rewarding. It brings me great joy to be with someone and help them through their golden days to the end.

As a caregiver, I am very passionate about my jobs and strive to have the best relationship possible with my patients and their family. I am compassionate, patient, understanding and reliable with good communication, work ethic, and time management. Being chronically ill myself, I was always intrigued with healthcare and providing support for others in need, but I also have a soft spot for the elderly which makes my job so rewarding. My favorite part about being a caregiver is the bond I am able to build with my patient.

Im a positive outgoing person and full of energy maybe to much. That's one of the reasons why I feel I can make a difference in others lives. I have enough positivity and energy to share with everyone. While being in highschool I took a nursing class which allowed me to volunteer at the nursing home near my school which was amazing to me ! Everyone said I loved it way more than I should but they don't get to see the most amazing things that come from helping others! I also went to a elementary school that was down the road from my school which allowed me to volunteer with special education and pre development with pre schoolers. That also was so amazing im so lucky I had the chance to do that and or be allowed. So with all that I decided to go to Tide Water Community college in Virginia Beach and get my CNA. Which was the best choice I ever made. I will be finished by October 31 or November 10 we're waiting for an evaluator to pick up our testing date. While taking this class I have been doing clinicals at a nursing home near the school. I wasn't there long and after two days I had already fallen in love with all the residents. I love helping people and Its something that comes naturally to me. I love how they become family and to me it's helping me learn how to appreciate the little things in life. You also meet amazing people that having amazing story's. So I hope that you take me in to consideration because I promise I'll treat your family like it's my own.

Bathing/grooming/dressing, food prep., feeding, medication reminders, assist with moving from bed to chair, wound cleaning, catheter cleaning, assist with incontinence, recording vitals, etc... Familiar with Alzheimer and dementia patients. Familiar with diabetic patients, insulin and insulin pump. Familiar with Hoyer and Sara lift. Assist with activities to stimulate the mind: arts and crafts, reading, music, games, a walk or push around the block,

I naturally have an urge to help others and seen to always place placed a priority on helping other people. I tried to make the world a better place and I do it with one home care patient at a time. Working with people in a home care setting, I feel the desire to want to help. By showing both empathy and compassion as a caregiver I will let the person that I am caring about the person and want to do what I can to help them. I like flexibility, and as a caregiver, I like being prepared to go with the flow, being flexible, so that I can continue to provide good home care, even if a rigid schedule isn't being followed.
