Hi my name is Traci and I've been a caregiver for the elderly and disabled for over 20 years. I've had other jobs but I'm always drawn back to the elderly. I enjoy sitting and chatting with them, they're so full of information..... Like walking dictionaries! I have worked with many different diagnosis over the years, my schedule is flexible and I'm very dependable.

I would describe myself as a respectful, observant, reliable and patient person who provides first-class care. Over the years, I have worked in various roles where the need to work closely with other people, follow strict rules and procedures, and demonstrate understanding and empathy have been required. Being a caregiver is something that comes natural to me. As a young girl I watched my mom care for our elderly relatives and neighbors. I was always happy to assist her with helping others who couldn't help themselves. I enjoy showing great companionship to my patients. I love listening to their life stories, it helps me with getting to know and understand them. I treat patients how I would want someone to treat me or my loved ones if we were in the condition. The best reward I get from being a caregiver is knowing that I was able to help give someone a better quality of life because they're no longer able to do it on their own. I always be sure to treat my patients with respect and dignity.

What makes me a great caregiver is that I pay attention to details. I do exactly what I'm told, asked and also give advice according to my expertise and I tell the truth about what is needed when it matters. I first started working with elders within my monastery taking care of their basic needs and taking them back and forth to doctor's appointments and following their doctors care of plan. That transmitted to my professional work life as a certified nursing aide, as I work in the nursing homes and also in private home settings. It brings me joy to see those who are in need of help receive the assistance that they need without taking away their dignity and also giving them the extra help that's necessary.... at the same time allowing them to do what they can for themselves. I have a broad range going from helping those with terminal illnesses all the way to those who just need extra assistance around the house. There is no job too big or too small for me to do.

HELLO! My career as a caregiver started with a chronically ill father. Throughout my childhood and in my early teens my dad was very ill with diabetes Type 1. When I was 5 years old my dad lost his eyesight. As a preteen I participated in his care helping with blood sugar readings and Insulin injections. When I was able to drive I help out by taking him to doctor's appointments. I went away to college and lived in Florida for a few years and as my dad became progressively worse I moved home. I became increasingly involved in his care as my mother was worn out and had a very full-time job. At that point I decided to change career paths and go to nursing school.
