Hi, my name is Danielle Dickison and I am a certified nurses aide, certified home health aide, and licensed practical nurse. I am certified in basic life support, CPR and AED, and first aid. Positive attributes to my personality that allow me to be a great caregiver are that I have a very big heart and I'm very caring. I treat all of my clients and residents as family. The reason I chose to become a caregiver is because I have a family history of nurses, caregivers, and CNAs, and because I have always been drawn to caring for those who are no longer able to care for themselves independently. I have been a caregiver for two years. I worked at two facilities. I am familiar with working with people with Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, Huntington's disease, covid-19, and many others. I have been through training multiple times and I know to feed , bathe , shower patients. If I will cook for the patient , clean, do household chores ect. I have worked in home health care as well as a facility and during these times I have met some wonderful people. I have met people from all over the world! I love what I do and I would love to help you and your loved ones.

I start nursing school in September and I am looking for side jobs to help me pay bills I have wanted to be a nurse for a very long time. Nursing is who I am and what I do.

I am very experienced and reliable working with the senior population. I am currently working for a Home Health in Ithaca part time and private home care. I worked private care for seniors, hourly and live-in, for 10 years. I have my PCA but prefer duties more companion care related I worked 8 years for a non for profit agency, working with independent adults with developmental disabilities and special needs. I am a certified Reflexologist having a private practice for 3 years and currently studying Reiki. I would be willing to share my work if there is any interest. One of my passions are learning and understanding how we heal our body naturally and sharing this information with others, helping them understand they have choices. I decided to become a caregiver because growing up my grandmother had early onset Alzheimer's, I watched how her caregivers supported her but our family as well. I started working at an assisted living facility during college and then transitioned into home care. I feel like often times when being a caregiver you are meeting someone at a challenging point in their life. It takes understanding, patience, kindness. I enjoy being part of a team that can make the transition of needing care not only easier on the families but as easy as possible for the person needing care.
