What makes me a great caregiver is my heart. I have always cared about the well being of others, it makes me happy knowing that I am able to help people. What I like about caregiving is meeting new people, and being able to do all I can to comfort and help. A personal achievement I am really proud of is working with someone with CP. This person was in a wheel chair for a long number of years, this person gave up long ago. I came in and got to help this person and care for them helped with motaviating this person to start exercising and then we started taking small steps, thru out my years of caregiving with this person. I was able to help get this person out of the chair and to start walking again. It made me feel so good to see smiles from my client and the family because of how I dedicated myself to her, I was able to give hope and was able to see my client do somethings on their own. It is definitely a highlight to caregiving.

I have worked as a Charge Nurse at nursing home & assisted living facilities & have decided to go into Home Care so I can provide one on one care. I'm a 34 year old nurse assistant. I've been in this career doing what I love for over 15+ years. Alzheimer's and dementia are my passion to work with. Being a caregiver has been very rewarding in knowing I am able to make others feel good in their daily lives with assistance of daily living. They feel secure which makes me feel good and proud to assist. I have alot of compassion and heart for anyone.

I have always loved caring for people since I was a small child, after I had my own child my passion of caring for others grew. I love knowing that's I am making a difference in someone's life. What seems to be smallest thing to us, could mean the most to someone else. I have worked with individuals with special needs for seven years and have had the background of dealing with "difficult" traits. Everyone is different but we all want someone who shows they care about them. I currently am working with assisted living residents, and that's a big reward in it's self, I have no living grandparents so being with them makes me feel like I'm with my own family.

I think I am a great caretaker because I actually take the time to care for elderly as they are my family. I have a big heart for children and elderly that's what interested me in taking care of the elderly on my own. I enjoy the one on one time with them. One of my achievements that I am proud of is I get to know new people meaning my clients and their family. I am a people person and I tend to become very close to my clients like family
