I have been an emergency technician for the past 26 years. I took care of a vast array of patients including many who were in critical condition. I recently left the ER to be the caretaker for a husband and wife. I am responsible for bathing, cooking, grocery shopping, medication distribution, and household cleaning. Its a joy being able to help keep them out of a nursing home. The wife has end stage COPD and the husband has Parkinsons. I am especially proud that because of my efforts they are still living at home. The relationship I have built with them has been well worth it too. The husband has even given me the nickname Christmas because he looks forward to seeing me every morning.

In a skilled nursing facility I got to meet and take care of so many amazing people. People who were long term ended up like a second family, even ones who were short term ended up like family and got treated as such. I always wanted to get into nursing, however, I had to wait until my daughters both graduated from high school. Once my youngest got into college I was able to go to nursing school. I have worked with geriatrics as well as with prisoners and addiction. I have enjoyed all aspects of my nursing career thus far and I am looking forward to working with CareLinx.
