Hello all.. If we decide that I am a match for yourself or your loved one, I will ensure safety of client, respect, well prepared meals, outings if client would like to, etc.... I worked in corporate for 18 years and left to care for my grandmother. After her passing, I realize that caring for others brings me the greatest joy in life. I have been in this field for 7 years mainly hospice patients. I've had a wide scope of patients from demencia, copd, wheelchair bound, blind,etc... Though the years I've discovered my measurements of success in the caregiving field. One being able to give my clients the best last days of there life! There is great joy in bringing laughter to many in their time of need. I grew up in a culture in which family members give much importance to not only taking care of each other when young but also when they are old. Many of my friends' grandparents lived with them all their lives.
Since I was young I wanted to be either a doctor or a teacher and for sure I've followed by calling. I just feel good when I help somebody. I love taking care of my husband and daughter.
I have a BA in English and I have some nursing studies. I have worked in nursing homes, hospital and assisted living facilities. I've given care to patients, taken blood pressure, bathed, fed, changed diapers, cleaned colostomy stoma, ulcers, changed feeding tubes... I've been a Spanish teacher and for the past 6 years I've been working as a Bilingual Special Education Teacher Assistant. Because of my job and my past experiences dealing with people, I have developed a special attention to details and ability to solve problems. I consider myself an energetic, confident, patient, observant, empathetic, compassionate, dependable, trustworthy, competent, honest attentive person of sound judgement.
