I became a caregiver due to the fact my grandparents who both raised me both passed away in nursing homes. After I saw the care and how they were being treated, I made the decision to become a nurse assistant so I could possibly make a difference. I feel as though I have, I love what I do and couldn't see myself doing anything else. I'm a very compassionate person with a big heart and I truly enjoy helping others. I'm a good talker but a better listener and will do anything to make sure my patient is comfortable and taken care of emotional, physically, and personally. I worked with students with disabilities for Northside ISD for many years. For a few years now, I've immersed myself in the seniors care field and have devoted my work to assist the families of: a WWII 94yr old veteran with dementia and blindness, a 63 yr old retired DEA agent with Parkinson's symptoms, a charming southern lady with fall risks, an army veteran with Alzheimer's, and a former Texas cowboy with post-traumatic brain injury. I have been doing Home Health Care for 20+ years. I have taken care of a wide variety of clients right down to family. I feel that since I was taken care of by the state as a child, my way of giving back is to take care of my loved ones. I enjoy seeing the smile on my client's faces when I walk through their door.
