I began my journey 8 years ago when I became a certified nursing assistant. I have worked in long term care facilities, skilled nursing facilities, memory care facilities, hospice, and the hospital. I did not know what I was getting myself into in the beginning but somehow I felt that helping others was meant for me. Being a caregiver is who I am. I enjoy people and connecting with them even when it is a challenge to do so. Every person is unique and has different needs. I always do my best to make them feel comfortable while finding joy in the day. I am currently in my second year of nursing school with a graduation year of 2024. I have 3 children plus 3 step children age in range of 10-17. I have a four legged, super furry son name Kai. I work on the weekends on the med/surg unit at the hospital. Now that school is starting up I have time available to do what I love and that is helping others live a better life.

I take care of my clients as if they were my loved ones. I've always been a caregiver by nature. I've always wanted to help people who couldn't help themselves. Plus I am very good at it. Personal achievement would be making a difference in someone's life and getting that acknowledgement from their family because it impacted them as well. And also being able so save lives.

Originally I became a Certified Nursing Aide in order to qualify as a Primary Home Care Supervisor. As I began to bring clients onto service and place the aides into the homes to assist the clients with activities of daily living my heart was changed by the needs of these lovely people, my clients. Caregiving is in my opinion is the most personal way to truly give back to the most frail of our society. It is incredibly rewarding in seeing the outcome of what some assistance will do! I have been a staff Ombudsman for the state of Texas in Long Term Health Care facilities further helping be a voice for those who may not otherwise be able to speak for themselves. Being able to assure that each resident has the most basic of services and is treated with respect is among achievements of which I am most proud. I bring 10 years of experience and ongoing education with private care clients. Acute Care, ALS, Dementia, Alzhiemers, Diabeties, Physical Therapy, and keeping clients engaged through activities of daily living. I routinely transport clients to Dr's visits, shopping, and their activities. I am a Texan, born and raised, who loves the outdoors. I am an avid gardener and an enthusiastic long distant cyclist. I got interested in caregiving while in Colorado, I pursued my CNA license but after moving to Texas I went another route . A family illness in 2012 put me in a place where I could see that great caregivers are needed badly , so HERE I AM!! I am honest , with a spotless background, references will be provided. I am patient and kind and am very understanding of what each individual family is going thru. I am experienced with dementia ,end of life care , Parkinson's, ALS and hospice care. I use Hoyer lifts daily and cook daily . I have children but they have all left the nest now.
