My entire life, people have been drawn to my light, loving energy, compassion and sense of humor. Most often I have heard that my presence speaks volumes, I'm a ray of sunshine and an earth angel. I feel our elders are a treasure and should receive the help and support they deserve. After decades working in a corporate setting I decided to leave and pursue a more heart-centered career. I had been drawn for years to the idea of working with elders and those in hospice and once I started training I knew I had found my life purpose. Regardless of age, I enjoy being a caregiver! I love knowing that I make a difference in peoples lives through my work, volunteering and my 'being of service' way of being. I have many personal achievements that I'm proud of, but the one that touches my heart the most is that I allowed myself the gift of time and self-reflection to step into my life purpose, being of service in elder care, end of life care and other related areas that bring together all of my education, gifts and life experiences. I am a pretty easy going person I have a neutral personality so I get along with pretty much anyone. I have been a cna for over 13 years. I have worked in many different aspects of the field so I know my way around. I'm outgoing and love to encourage independence and being able to help people conquer daily tasks. I enjoy seeing them laugh and joke and have a smile on their face. I am proud that I am able to help them achieve daily goals and keep a smile and laughing and be happy while doing it.

My experience is both personal and professional. I have a Masters in Healthcare Administration, I was a Quality Director for a rural clinic, a first responder at a local Volunteer Fire Department, and I cared for my Mother and Brother with neurological disorders for more than six years. For me creating a safe and engaging environment was crucial to improve their respective living environments. Additionally, knowing the healthcare system, and being an advocate for their healthcare needs was critical to minimize confusion and improve their overall care. As a versed mechanic and handyman, I made their living environments safe with hold bars and special care devices, minimizing fall hazards. Additionally, traveling out of the house is essential in maintaining a level of freedom from confinement, and we would go out regularly to do errands, go to DR. appointments and do external activities. Cooking was a favorite for both, as I would cook their favorites usually in large quantities, so they had packaged meals that they could pop in the microwave. As I approach my early 60s, I have been very fortunate and desire to continue helping and caring for others. Helping to organize and manage small elements can make the difference in just getting along or feeling like a valued member of society.

I am an upbeat compationate RN. I have been an RN for over 30 years. I love the patient contact and helping people. A personal achievement that I am proud of is that despite all the technology I still enjoy the patients. I love the challenges that health care provides!

I love one on one time with the clients it makes for a better experience. I became a caregiver after my grandmother got sick and needed help & its always been a huge passion of mine to help other family's that need the help. I'm a licensed CNA & thats my biggest accomplishment was getting my license to be certified to help the elders.

I think what makes me a good caregiver is the good comments from the family about myself and that is a complement about my job, I became a caregiver because is a job the have so much rewarding! I like to be a caregiver because you make good friends and treat your patient as they were part of your family, is little challenging at times! I've been in cna since September 2017 and got inspired growing up helping my great grandmother around the house and after she past helping my elders came something to look forward to do I love to assist with their needs but dont help completely that way they are still doing part of it but if I see them struggling or I'll see if they need anything but I'll always work with them to improve more then how they was I've done home help before and its different but its easier sometimes but I'm willing to try new thi as all the time

I have been a caregiver most of my life. I started my career as a CNA and eventually became an LPN. I took an early retirement from nursing in 2015 to help raise my grandsons but have continued in the home care field.
