I love seeing people happy and will go out of my way to assure that they are. I got my first on the books job at 15 and was able to graduate a year and a half early. Hi. My name is Sharona (yes yes just like the song). Haha. I have done private personal care on and off for the last 16 yrs. I have taken a small break from 2016 until now. My father passed in 2016 which in turn took a heavy part of me with him. After my father died I moved in with my mother to help take care of her, so it wasn't a break per se. I am 40 years old with 2 children. I have a 16-year-old daughter and a 12-year-old son. I love the outdoors. I like fishing, camping and just enjoying time with my family. Family is the most important thing to me. I guess that is why I have always loved working in home health. I was never the type of person that could work a job that I wasn't helping for the good to some point. Also, I am currently studying to obtain my BA in Human Services with a concentration in Child and Family Services. I would like to work with families by trying to help provide services once they are reunited. I became a caregiver in 2005 not sure of what this job as in store for me. I started the CNA job just so I could get a job anywhere I go. Not knowing that I would meet some wonderful people a long the way. From my residents to my co-workers I have learned that being a caregiver is what I like best about my life. I love taking care of the elderly, they have shown me a lot through the years, I have had some really great people stay with while they have departed the earth. I like to see my residents do a lot of things on their own, with little to no help. To keep their independency, because not only will they tell you that they can do it on their own, they will do things on their own inspite of what you say. I like to think that my residents are my on family, in time they do become my family. The elderly that I have taken care of have made me who I am today. Not only am I their for them I am also there for their family as well, to give them a peace of mind to ensure them they are getting good quality care from me.
