I enjoy being a caregiver because I like hearing stories about how it was when my clients were growing up and how different it was for them, compared to today's world. I also, like being outdoors when it's a beautiful day and I also don't mind staying in on a rainy or cold day playing a board game or putting a puzzle together. I have been in the home care for over 5 yrs, have taken care of people from ages newborn to 90s. I took care of my mom for the last year of her life as she had cancer and I did everything for her from cleaning, feeding tubes to shots. I also took care of a man (62) who had Alzheimer's and Parkinson's and changed diapers, took to appointments and did overnights. My other woman was an 89 years old who needed help in dressing and feeding. I am still friends with all my clients and have references. I work through a placement agency which would give me a great reference.

Hello my name is Deshay and I am a certified personal care aide, I have been a PCA since 2019 and I also just recently received my CNA. I absolutely love caregiving, being able to help someone while they can stay in the comfort of their own home is my main goal! I have been in a few different settings when it comes to healthcare. I have worked in a nursing home, an assisted living home, and actual in home care. I am a fast learner and I can adapt to any situation pretty quickly. I know myself not everyday is going to be easy and some days can be more difficult than others but I take with a full heart and open mind and a compassionate demeanor. I watched my mom work in a nursing home for years, and I always looked up to her. I was always amazed at how much love she had for her residents and I could not wait to be apart of that! The thing that I enjoy most about being a caregiver is that I get to spend my day with different types of people and hear about life experiences and sometimes share common interests! It's amazing to hear what others have been through. My number one personal achievement that I am proud of was becoming a healthcare worker.
