Experience caregiver having over 10 years working with various clients. I guess you could say my life could be encapsulated in four simple words faith, family, friends, and helping others! I have worked in Home Health both in nursing homes as well as memory care facilities for over 10 years. I love helping people, I also feel that in some ways this is my ministry even though it is my part-time job. I have experience in memory care, ADL's, transfer assist, gait training, lighthouse keeping, meal prep, companionship, and bathing and grooming, I have dependable transportation and arrive to work on time and don't miss days unless I am ill. I am normally very healthy, and I insist on cleanliness and am constantly washing my hands. I would like to think I am extremely cautious in keeping both myself safe as well as you. I've had extensive training in HIPAA and sanitation. After retiring from Health and Human Services caregiving became my passion. I'm a very conscientious and hard worker and yet I still remain cheerful throughout the day. I also am a Certified Activities Director so I feel like I bring a little more than just caregiving. I believe that seniors need daily activities to stay happy and healthy and if possible to be a part of their day-to-day activities and have a purpose. If the senior is capable and able to water plants or assist with meal prep I encourage that. I am an outgoing, compassionate person who loves to be around elderly and help them with their daily task! I became a caregiver because I always loved and enjoyed getting my uncle who was down syndrome smile, that enjoyment on his face was everything to me! I love just talking about their memories and what they love/use to do, love looking at photo albums with them and just seeing that love and joy on their face is why i continue to love being their companion.

My personality traits that help me be a great caregiver are that I'm patient, flexible and have a great attitude. What attracted me to being a caregiver is that I love helping people. The thing I enjoy the most about being a caregiver is being able to help someone's loved one and put a smile on their face. My personal achievement that I'm proud of is being a CNA.

When I completed high school I went to college not knowing what I wanted to do for a job. I saw that my cousin who has Down Syndrom could not communicate with my family very well as she could not speak. When starting college I took sign language to communicate with my her. This became my joy and I loved helping children and Adults with mental and physical disabilities in their home and in the community. I strive to be able to listen and understand each person's needs and wants with caring and compassion for each person. I have worked with all ages and a range of disabilities including but not limited to, Scoliosis, Down Syndrom, ALS and Alzhelmer's.

I believe what makes me a good caregiver. Is I have alot of patience, hard working, caring and down to earth. I decided to become a caregiver because I love helping others in need. I treat my clients as if they were apart of my family, which is with care and respect. Making my client laugh is my main goal. Laughter is good for the heart. It warmed my heart when a few clients I use to work with told me that they loved me for taking such good care of them. That reassured me that I achieved my goal taking care of them the best I can.

Hi !, my name is Cindy and I love care giving because it allows me to give back to the community with its wisest members, our elderly! I have twenty years experience as a care giver. I have ten years of live in experience and are trying to find a position which will allow me to spend more time with my disabled son. I'm a very friendly socially outgoing person and usually I end up very fast friends with my clients and their families. I usually can get them to bathe in no time because I am persuasive and professional! People will begin to eat healthier because I am an excellent cook and I pay close attention to nutrition. I am timely and can fill medi planners and recommend vitamins and supplements . In fact I'm gearing up for certification in herbology and functional nutrition. I'm also getting recertification in CPR locally. I'm considering certification in dementia care as well. I have worked and studied dementia in non credited format. I feel staying engaged is paramount in maintaining a healthy lifestyles in advanced years of life. I love arts and crafts and design projects for us to complete with interest and enthusiasm! Sometimes I sketch my clients and they enjoy this activity. I bring board games for fun and can play cards as well. I also attend church and stay close in my church community.
