I believe what makes me a great caregiver is that I take care of all my patients as if they were my own family and make sure they are comfortable and most importantly I listen to their needs. I first became interested in health care when my mother was ill and needed care herself and realized that I had a real passion for helping others. I enjoy knowing that the family can be at ease knowing I'm there taking care of their loved ones. At Long Beach Memorial I was know as the "sitter whisper" because whenever they had a difficult patient they would alway assign me that patient and by the end of the day the patient would no longer require restraints or was completely compliant and friendly. They always ask what was my secret and I would say I simply listen to what their needs are.

I am tolerant,patient,humble,able to work with tough clients.I also treat the client like if he or she was like my family.I don't take anything personal.I love my job and I'm patience I'm always nice and courteous I always put their needs first before mine.

I've been a caregiver for 35 yrs. I started in this field when I was just 17. I love what I do. I come from a medical family and decided at a very young age that I wanted to be a doctor or nurse. My baby brother had got really sick at the point of dying cuz they couldn't figure out what was wrong he finally got a little better they sent him home and I took care of him cuz they put him a pick line, I've also helped my friend with her parents until the y passed I helped take care my moms friend father he had dementia so I had to give him his medication also bathe him my last client I had just passed away back in the middle of march I was so happy that I could bring him joy for his last days here on earth his family said I spoiled him it's that he reminded and me so much of my grandfather so I'm just glad I can help people!!!

I am punctual, very compassionate about what I do for people who have lost some independence from a life event. Compassion for the family involved to help lessen the burden. I like to tell stories that help the family get to know who I am and I love to hear stories from them as well.
