I'm a mother to four happy healthy children. After 21 years of traveling the world with my military husband I'm ready to pursue my dreams of helping others. I love caring for people and I'm excellent at it. I love to cook and clean [?] it gives me great joy in making others comfortable.

I have always had a strong relationship with my Grandmother, from as young as I can remember. I watched her as she aged over the years, and became unable to do certain things for herself. It was instinctual for me to just do them for her. It made her feel better knowing she had me there for her and it made me feel good knowing I could help her and make her life easier. I still feel that way today when I am able to help someone out with things they cannot do for themselves. I always think, if I wasn't around for my own Grandmother, I would have wanted a compassionate individual, like myself, to care for her. I take pride in my natural ability to care for the wellbeing of others with the utmost respect. I truly enjoy helping people. That is why I became a certified caregiver.

Having worked in the healthcare field for over 31 years. Caregiving for 27 years. I have found assisting people to either regain or maintain their health has been rewarding. However my most rewarding has been assisting the elderly as well as physical and or mentally challenged meet their health goals. As our population grows older, and health challenged, I feel the best respect you can give them is to assist them in maintaining as much of their independence as possible. I currently hold an Associates Degree in Healthcare Administration, I'm currently attending school seeking a bachelors of science degree in Professional Studies.

I started being a caregiver when I was 25 years old, I always had a heart for people and helping others. I knew that was the type of work I wanted to do was give back my time and love to ones that need special care. I worked with clients from ages 17-78 some with mental and intellectual disabilities, to working with patients in a mental hospital suffering from depression, drug abuse, rape, self harm, suicidal thoughts and attempts. My favorite moment about working in this field is when I know I have changed someone life and/or made life a little more easier to live in.

I am a very patient, loving and caring person with a passion for helping people in need. I love to be depended on and I love meeting new people and learning new things. That's what I enjoy most about being a caregiver, the experience and having someone depending on you is a heartwarming feeling to me. One personal achievement I am proud of is completing two associates degrees back to back, it was a challenge.

My personal achievements over the years, has been great working as a direct care staff and a program manager. I have excelled over the years and I have gained so much experiences.

I've been a caregiver even before I was certified. I helped take off my grandmother before she passed away. Being a caregiver is definitely in my blood in which I pride myself on such. All of patients are my family and I treat them as if they were. My personal achievement that I'm proud of is the fact I'm 36yo, a single mother of a 16yo, and a college graduate whose going for Master's of Science degree.

I have a variety of experience in several medical fields. I am compassionate and timely. The experiences help me understand the needs and concerns of others. I am a retired RN and worked for 20 years before retiring early so I am very confident in a caregiver position. Being a caregiver comes naturally to me as I like taking care of people and helping them with whatever they need so they can continue living as much as possible independently and with dignity. After my early retirement in 2000, I became caregiver to my husband when he suffered a mild stroke in 2008, to my ailing mother in law who had dementia and a feeding tube in 2012, and to my grandchildren when they had to undergo multiple surgeries, the most recent of which was in February 2015 to repair a heart defect. Former coworkers, patients and friends describe me to be highly competent, professional, and kind, some of whom are available as references. I believe that proper care, remaining active, kindness, compassion, and companionship are very important to achieve good quality of life, especially among the elderly, things that I gladly provide my patients and friends. Being of older age myself, I appreciate the elderly and treat them with utmost respect for what they have accomplished and are still able to do in life.
