Since I was raised from birth by my grandparents, who also took care of my handicapped mom since 10 years before my birth, I've had a lifetime of being in an environment of senior care and disabled care. Starting in high school, I had a larger role in caring for my grandad and mom with medical issues, and this role increased as my grandad had cancer and various treatments for it as well as increased hospital stays. I have a great, genuine desire to help people, and I'm skilled at it too. God has continued growing my skills of care and problem-solving as I continue caring for my 4 step-kids and husband, and my mom when needed. I also have 2 dogs and a cat, so I'm fine being around pets; I have a lot of previous experience caring for dogs, cats, and horses when working for families as a nanny.

I've been an LPN in Ga. Since 2004, I specialize in senior care,I'm CPR/ first aid certified as well, flexible, friendly and available to work lots of hours. I have worked in the private duty/home setting for several different couples, and on and off since around 2008. I am highly skilled and have excellent references, upon request. I love working with senior clients. I do everything from meal prep, bathing , grooming to medication reminders. Also taking clients to/from Dr's appointments or physical therapy. I decided to become a caregiver at a very young age. My grandmother's battle with cancer had a huge influence on my decision to join the medical field. I applied at Oakview Health and Rehabilitation to participate in their CNA classes. I was more than thrilled to have gotten a call saying I was accepted, this was in May of 2014. I was certified, then later started working as a CNA there. I left in February of this year to try a more personal type of caregiving. I honestly didn't like being in a rush while feeding, grooming, bathing, or just simply helping someone. I went to a home health agency in Rome, GA and worked with several different clients. I had two full time clients both located in Lafayette, Ga that I cared for 12 hours a day, 4 or 5 days a week. Needless to say, I was extremely attached and they were like my own grandparents. They both passed away, and because of lack of clients, I decided to go back full time at Oakview. I have absolutely fallen in love with being a caregiver, it gives me a feeling that nothing else can compare to. I love to care for others, and every patient I've ever had immediately becomes family to me. I get along very well with other people and have a lot of patience. The home health agency I worked for actually sent me to the difficult clients because they knew I could soften them up! My husband and I just moved to the area with our 2 little boys from Winter Springs, Florida. I worked for 13 years in the medical field in the Intensive Care Unit, Emergency Department, Adult/Pediatric Psychiatry, omHecare, and Dialysis. I have been a caregiver my entire life. I took care of my sister who is mentally and physically handicapped from the age of 5 years old, until i went to college. She has spina bifida, hydrocepholas, a shunt, and other health issues/ conditions. I can help transfer to and from a wheel chair, Cath, change diapers, dress, bath, anything! I have also been a caregiver to my dying grandparents and an 87 year old woman with parkinsons and dementia. She suffered from incontinence, mood swings, aggression, and anger issues. There's not much i can't handle. I've also worked with special needs people a lot, examples down syndrome, autism, MS, and other physical and mentally handicaps.
