My favorite thing about being a caregiver is the history of my patents. It brings so much joy to see them smile and relive there favorite memories of the past. I held my Certified Nursing assistant license for many years & only gave it up when I choose to not work in Nursing Homes. I keep up with all the latest training & have many certificates.

I came into the caregiver role by accident. My best friend asked me to help out in a home she was working in with a widowed woman with MS. That was when I realized that I really enjoyed taking care of others. In this home I had the most variety of responsibilities. Throughout my HHA time I have worked closely with quadriplegics as well, gaining experience with ventilators, feeding tubes, catheterizing and ROM. I like the relationships I have developed while assisting people with their care and every day needs. About six years into my home health aide career I received my CNA certification, which I allowed to expire as I changed career paths. Within the last couple of years I have realized that home health care is where I belong. I am empathetic which gives me an "inside" look if you will to better assist people. I am willing to learn new skills and always willing to assist any way needed.

Been caring for the elderly since I was 18yrs old in there home. I'm happy person that loves to make older people happy. I worked at nursing home doing therapy with a therapist. Retired an went to work for home for women in Jackson Michigan. An know I work for 101 year old man.

I was born to nurture. I feel most useful and fulfilled when I am taking care of other people. I was a nanny to two little girls for about five years, and then I worked in an assisted living facility, taking care of six residents for two years during college. I enjoy the companionship of care-giving the most. Many of the residents were elderly and had no families, so I ultimately stepped into that role for many of them. They became my family. I am proud of my experience with taking care of others, and the bonds that have been formed over the years.
