I started my career of caregiving In 1983 where I provided in home care for an elderly lady for 18 months. In 1984 I worked for Minnesota DHS with developmentally disabled persons. In 1989 I began working for the Minnesota DOC until I retired in 2020. I love to help people achieve their goals and I really enjoy seeing people happy. I am currently teaching myself some wood working, furniture refinishing and some art.

Most of my experience is with dementia and hospice care. But I've worked in many different situations, Group homes, and floor coverage in memory care assisted living facilities. I've also worked with handicapped people and people with severe mental and physical developmental disabilities. I have 16 years of medical background and people skills. I worked under the Director of Breast Oncology and have a history of Oncology care. I am looking for a part-time career change. I would love to transition into home care with helping adult or children. I enjoy caring for and helping people. With my background, I have developed some special relationships with the patients I have cared for. Which, made it difficult when they passed. But, very rewarding knowing that you did everything to make them more comfortable and happy to come to their appointments. I am sensitive to special needs and very compassionate at what I do. Truthful, reliable, organized and outgoing. I am married with 4 children myself. The eldest is my daughter who I just dropped off at college 8 hours away. The other 3 are my husband's children. So it seems like busy household, but really it is pretty quiet most of the time. I enjoy crafts, movies, cooking, golf, scrap-booking, shopping, camping, traveling and spending time with my family. I would love to run errands, grocery shop, take you to your appointments, see a movie or just try something new.
