I worked for 1. 5 years in a nursing facility as a certified nursing assistant helping our elderly with all aspects of their activities of daily living. I also worked as a mental health therapy aide at the Buffalo psychiatric center for 10 years and took care of my mom the last year of her life. I am very personable and caring. Hello I'm shalonna watts 31 yrs old, currently in buffalo Ny. I have been a caregiver for over 7 yrs. It started with my grandfather, He retired and next thing his health started declining. I cared for him because I didn't like how he was being treated in nursing homes. I just couldn't stand to see the way he was so I knew others wasn't exempt to the same type of treatment. So that's what inspired me to start being a care giver, I've had several cases over the years, some longer than others, different type of issues. However I always provide excellent care to my patients, I try and make them as comfortable in the situation. I listen to there needs and make sure that they know I'm here for them whenever they need me. I'm proud of the mother and person I have become, I've had some tough times in life but I've overcome everything that was holding me back. I've just recently received my Cna license and bls/cpr license.
