Later in life, when my daughter was very young I worked at her day care with the 18-24 month group. There were lots of smiles watching them grow and testing their independence. I have had the privilege to work with a 93 yr old woman with vascular dementia and a 93 yr old woman who requires a hoyer lift transfer in and out of bed. Currently, I am blessed to work with a remarkable centarian, whom I brag about any chance I get. And a smart and vibrant 26 yr old with SMA. Working privately on a daily basis, I can provide personal care, wound care, grooming, medication prompting and administration, meal prep, laundry and companionship. I have provided transportation to Dr's appointments, shopping excursions, trips for ice cream, as well as driven an Abilty-mobile van to and from parties and even summer camp.
