What makes me a great caregiver is that I pay attention to details. I do exactly what I'm told, asked and also give advice according to my expertise and I tell the truth about what is needed when it matters. I first started working with elders within my monastery taking care of their basic needs and taking them back and forth to doctor's appointments and following their doctors care of plan. That transmitted to my professional work life as a certified nursing aide, as I work in the nursing homes and also in private home settings. It brings me joy to see those who are in need of help receive the assistance that they need without taking away their dignity and also giving them the extra help that's necessary.... at the same time allowing them to do what they can for themselves. I have a broad range going from helping those with terminal illnesses all the way to those who just need extra assistance around the house. There is no job too big or too small for me to do.

I just always had a passion to help others it's just something I love doing. Being able to give someone that extra help they need so that they can stay in their own homes makes me love what I do even more and also just seeing the joy that I bring into their lives not only makes their day but it also makes mine. Going back to school and receiving 3 certifications was a big accomplishment for me. I am a motivated quick learning who is eager to help others. I am very passionate about my work, I love what I do. I have worked in hospitals, nursing homes as well as homecare settings.

I fully believe we all have a calling in life. This happens to be mine. I've been a certified nurses aide since I was 18 years old. I've worked with all facets in which the job could entail. Private and in house facilities. Dementia/Alzheimer's - the blanket of it and it's branches, quad and paraplegic inflicted folks. Colostomy care as well as wound care. The list goes on. However, whatever the aliment, or the the age, we are all people, with feelings and tempers and day to day challenges. Sitting down with someone, hearing stories about their loves and accomplishments, simply giving them time and attention is what I see is most important. The smiles, hugs and love make my job worth it each and every day. I would be happy to sit down and meet you, your family and loved one and see if I am the right fit to help them carry on, when sometimes life seems like it's taking simple tasks away from them and comfort and ease them into a new chapter. I am 49, with two grown children. Caring for others is what I do best. It's in my nature to be patience, compassionate and respectful at all times. I am very clean, organized, and love to cook. I'm not afraid of hard work. My best achievement, was retiring from my career in finance to become a full time caregiver for my husbands grandparents. To provide the care they needed, so they could stay in their home, was a very rewarding experience. I am currently in the process of moving to NY to live near my brother, and I'm look to get back to work as soon as possible. I stay calm it helps with dementia I'm friendly I like to kid around. I like being around the elderly. I love all the new things I learn from them the stories of there life. It's great my grandmother was a nurse and when she retired she opened her home to military vets and I would help her make beds clean there rooms and talk with them. I received my C.N.A. in 98.

From the time I was 14 years of age, I have been a caregiver. My brother was in a horrific car accident that left him paralyzed. I learned quickly how to care for him. After he regained some semblance of his life back he retreated towards drug use. I sat with him through withdraws and recovery. Now 33 years later he is still clean. I have been a CNA,HHA,PCA, office personnel, a farm manger, a part of construction crews, and a HVAC Technician. I have met many people with different abilities, both intellectual and physical. With that said I am able to relate to many different types of people. I come from a long line of farmers and military and respect both professions to the highest degree. We should honor our Vets and our forefathers. Both men and women.
