I have been working in health care since a young age, starting off being a health care aide for my blind grandmother at the tender age of 8 years old. From there on I found my passion in life. During my years as working as a personal care aide, I had the opportunity to take care of my parents during their last days. In doing so, I was able to gain a personal insight on the importance of having the right person taking care of your loved ones, which gave me an even greater passion for the work I do. I realized the importance of giving each and every person who I take care of the same love and care as I gave my loved ones while taking care of them. As well as the respect and honor to have the opportunity to be a part of their life.

I became a caregiver to help my brother and his family. I have been blessed with help from people throughout my life and love when I have the opportunity to help others. I worked in a physical therapy clinic for 8 years and am an ACSM certified personal trainer starting an in-home personal training business. Hi everyone, My name is Danielle, but everyone calls me Dani. I'm a certified Home Health Aide (soon to be a certified CNA and PCT (yes I have goals) that has over ten years experience in the health field. I have worked with individuals in the MR population, Veterans, individuals who are homeless, the Elderly, individuals who suffer from Substance Abuse, at risk teens and parolees. In this role, I have served hundreds of patients in their home with basic but exceptional service in duties such as: personal hygiene, healthcare, feeding, toileting, bathing, medication reminders and grooming. I began my study in the science of nursing, applied myself academically, received scholarships and graduated with honors because I wanted a good job with the opportunity for growth and advancement. This is the statement many people use in the cover letter of a resume without understanding what it really means. During my tours of duty I had the pleasure of working with a diverse population of people who taught me everything I know today. I learned to listen, be prudent, patient, empathetic and humble, and build trusting relationships. I didn't learn this from professors in college, instructors during clinical rotations, nor preceptors who oriented me to a new health care position. I learned from our seniors who struggle with dementia, our children who struggle with genetic disease syndrome, and our family, friends and neighbors who struggle with mental illness. I have been blessed with the opportunity to work in the areas of geriatric, pediatric, and behavioral health nursing. The people in my care revealed to me without saying a word that the good job with the opportunity for growth and advancement that I was looking for was with me the whole time. I was the good job that needed to be done, and I have people like your loved ones to thank for that. Early in my career as a registered nurse I decided to focus on home care because it was depressing to be surrounded by sick people who had to wait for pain medication, and help with meals, bathing, grooming, and toileting, and I couldn't help all of them. Home care affords me the time to focus on my actual employer's business at hand. That is your loved one's needs and concerns. I have always had the desire to help individuals to live a more rewarding life. It is a wonderful feeling to take away someones pain/ worries/ problems. I have cared for and raised five children and worked caring for people in multiple settings for over 25 years. I am on my own again and have relocated to my hometown of Somerset to start fresh. I am anxious to reconnect with the area and love caring for individuals on a one on one basis. Having been an RN for many years, I would very much love to care for people in their homes and treat them as family. I would like to be the extra pair of arms we all need from time to time. Going to Doctor's visits, trips to the grocery store, light housekeeping, general household pickup, walks in the park, general companionship, etc. I love to sew and read. I've been professionally trained n have my degree in medical assistaing. I've been working in the mh/mr and with the elderly for about 18 years. I have a copy of my back ground check. I also have my state certificate in med passing. I'm trained in ALOT of things that have to do with carrying for your family member. plus I clean n cook. I am also enrolled in nursing school.

Hi! My name is Matilda. I am 20 years old with approximately a years worth of experience as a CNA. Now I know that doesn't sound like a lot of time, but I was trained in a skilled nursing facility. In a skilled nursing facility I got to meet and take care of so many amazing people. People who were long term ended up like a second family, even ones who were short term ended up like family and got treated as such. I pride myself in giving the best care I possibly can while respecting each of my residents as an individual person, learning their likes and dislikes, and respecting their opinions. One of the questions on here is "What do you enjoy most about being a caregiver?" My answer to that is simple. I enjoy being able to see someone nearly everyday and making them smile,to make them feel respected, to make them feel they've been treated with dignity, and to make their life a little easier by taking some weight off their shoulders. I enjoy taking care of people. I think that any one that you care for should be treated like family, and making them smile. I am proud of myself for raising a wonderful son on my own, the experience was wonderful and would not change any thing. I am a very caring person, I took care of my father, and now I am caring for my mother. We only have one set of parents and they deserve there childrens respect and love. I am happy to be in this position and again would not change a thing. I had the experience of doing 24 hour care and have been hooked ever since. I am a very caring, responsible,dependable, honest and trusting person and have always had a good rating on being on time for work, stayed to work over time and best showing up for my shift every day. I like caring for people it makes me feel that what ever I do for them gives me a great feeling inside to be helpful. If you can help keep your patient happy and at ease when you are with them is a great feeling also, taking care of people that are not feeling well or that are sick takes a special type of person. Not every one is cut out for it.
