I am a great caregiver because I actually wanted to become a nurse because I was raised by my grandmother and I watched her be a caregiver to her parents and kids and also raise me as a daughter and I am her granddaughter. My great grandmother had multiple sclerosis when I was growing up as a young child and she lived next door to us. I used to go help my grandma take care of her till she got bedridden and passed. Both of my grandfathers also had Alzheimer's, dementia and Parkinson's I was also a full-time caregiver to one of them as a young adult. What I enjoy most about being a nurse and a caregiver is companionship. Everyone needs somebody especially the elderly it's very lonely when you get older and I love being a nurse/ caregiver to have my client feel that Most beautiful experience of Someone that actually cares.

I care a lot about the elderly. I first started out in this profession helping my father after my mother passed away. He was 75 and needed help with meals and cleaning the home, plus driving him to appointments. I also took care of my dad's sister, after her husband passed away. Helped with meals, took her to any appointments she had and helped with any cleaning around her home. She was 80 at the time and really needed my help. I've also taken care of friend's family members and also a girlfriend of my sisters who had surgery and needed someone with her for 3-4 days post op. Hello! My name is John Steele. I am a very loving, caring person with a real heart for serving and helping others. I have always had a special interest in caregiving because of my involvement in helping to care for my wife's 90 year old grandmother when she came to live with us, caregiving for a friend's father while his wife was recovering in the nursing home from hip surgery, and then caring for both of my parents as they began to experience issues related to aging and needing extra help. The thing that I enjoy most about caregiving is the feeling of accomplishment when a task is complete, knowing that I was instrumental in helping accomplish it. On a personal note, a verse from Scripture that drives me is where Jesus says "as much as ye have done to the least of these, ye have done it unto me." I am able to serve and honor the Lord as I serve an honor a family I am assisting. I can't think of any personal achievements that I am proud of right at the moment. I always felt like my caring, companionship and positive attitude as I was serving gave me a real joy.

Ive always loved elderly people, and a few of my regulars from up north(in IL/WI- where I moved from) became kinda surrogate grannys for me, since I lost mine in 2012 & havent been the same since.
