I decided to go into caregiving full time after taking care of both parents until their passing. I became astutely aware of the necessity for a caregiver to possess the same qualities I have to offer others (and their family members) during the time I oversaw the needs of my own parents. I realize how important and upsetting it can be for families trying to fill their loved ones needs without adequate help, and welcome the opportunities to help those in need. What makes me a caring, patient, loving caregiver is not only caring for my mother, but becoming one myself. Having a toddler has made me into the most tolerant and exuberant person. Brings back good memories. Being able to make something for someone that their mama used to make them as children is amazing. The light in their eyes is worth any and all work it took to prepare.
