I have been a caretaker most of my adult life. I took care of my mother for several years while she was ill with Lupus and worked in several nursing homes, assisted living and independent living facilities. I understand the worry of having someone to assist and keep your love one company and ensuring that they are well "looked" after while you are away. I have been a certified nurse's assistant and activty director for both nursing homes and assisted living facilities and I understand the importance of keeping people activite and happy. Taking care of elderly or sick people is my passion. I cook very well, sew, do arts and crafts and can lead low to high elements of exercise. I know professional techniques to get my clients engaged or just make them laugh. It started when I was in 7th grade when my mom miscarried at home. Once i heard her asking for help it was like instinct kicked in and I jumped in without hesitation calming her down and cleaning her at the same time. I was given a plaque from our Mayor for the heroics of that day. I later pursued my CNA license after graduation and worked in the field until a work related accident sidelined me. I enjoy the conversations and satisfaction of being there for the patient.

Hello my name is Alexis I became a CNA in 2014 in Ohio where my mothers family resides. I then moved back home where my family lives which is in Montana and I started working as a certified nursing assistant about four hours away in Minot North Dakota there I helped an RN who owned her own home healthcare company and was responsible for up to 6 to 8 patients daily by myself providing all cares and taking care of the cooking the feeding and transportations . I then came to Austin Texas and became a field specialist for BrightStar Care which just means I went to multiple different patients homes I did trainings with other aids and skills as well as just saw multiple different clients in 2018 they decided to bring me into the office that is where I became a senior lead client care manager over the course of four years . I have Attended CHCP and there I received my medical coding and billing certification and last month I graduated with my associates degree in medical health and administrative sciences. I am currently in my bachelor's program and I'm wanting to get back to caregiving to remember why we do what we do when I graduate with my bachelors and start working in a position where hopefully one day I hope to make real change to our healthcare system.
