She was difficult to understand and it was difficult for past caregivers to communicate with her. I initiated teaching her Yes and No in American Sign Language and she was able to use her better hand to respond to questions that I asked. I also initiated the company getting a communication device for her as to provide a better route of communication for future caregivers. I am a peoples person , every since my first home health job I've always believed that the people i care for is someones mother or father and to treat and loved them as if they were my family member. My first job was caring for this elderly lady after school , I caught the bus there every afternoon and my job was to just clean but every day it was always something different , the Nurse she had was never showing up so i would fix her dinner and help her get in bed and that's when i decided i was going to become a Home Health Aide and 22 years later i am still enjoying my job.
