When someone I am caring for is successful in achieving a goal, that spells success for everyone. I have believed that giving a handup to people who need one is why I'm here and spent most of my working life doing just that. I've been fortunate and believe in giving back, in brief I am client centered. Knowing that some people need a "life coach" to help them achieve a goal, that's what I do. I'm very proud to share a story about a young woman who met "the love of her life" on line. He was from another state, and between her guardian and myself we helped fill in the details and she got to take her first flight to meet her young man who now lives in Vermont and will someday become this young woman's husband.

I started working with people at a young age. I worked at a daycare for about two years and then moved to elderly care. I'm very kind hearted and a patient person. I love knowing that I'm helping someone's day become a little easier. I aspire to become a nurse one day and that is what I'm working towards. Ever since I started working in this field I love it I would never give it up !

I've been working in the home health care field for over 10 years. I have experience with many different types of care and needs. I like to personalize the care to the specific things that the client needs and wants. I aim to assist with household chores and cleaning, medication management, financial planning and organizing, connecting clients with local resources, provide companionship and support. With a sprinkle of fun and recreation in there as well. To improve their overall health, happiness, safety, security and comfort.

I have always enjoyed being around my elders. I would spend time with my grandparents on both my mother and father side as often as I could. I began volunteering at a nursing home near my house and would go play games and paint the ladies nails and just spend time with the clients. I like hearing the stories about their pasts and being able to really see how much things have changed. I enjoy how much they value and appreciate the little things in life and simplicity. I am proud that I have such strong relationships with many assisted living homes and elderly clients. I enjoy cooking, cleaning and getting to know people. I am very good at knowing when to engage in conversation with a client or allow them their space and time. I am also wonderful at finding what a client loves most whether it is reading, puzzles, cooking, scrapbooking, ect and focusing my time and effort on helping them engage in that activity. I love offering my help and support to those in need and enjoy the relationships I have built and continue to build with my elders within this community.

I more than can say enjoy spending time with someone wether it's sitting and chatting, playing games or even going out for walks. What I enjoy most about care giving is knowing that I personally made someone feel safe, smile, laughed and feel like they are important in any way! Love the most is that the smallest things can be the greatest things! My name is Kwindja Muderhwa. I am originally from Democratic republic of Congo, but I moved to the United States since 1996. I have been in the healthcare industry more than 15 years. I worked at UVM medical center as a Pharmacy Technician and Patient sitter and worked as a Nurse Assistant in couple facilities and Home-care. I assisted Clients/ patients with their daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, feeding, prepare meals, housekeeping, errands, medication reminder and assist with insulin shots or narcotics intake. Im familiar with hoyer lift, catheter, colostomy bag. I love being a caregiver because I like to be there for my patients/ Client when they need assistance to facilitate their life and be a companion.

Hi! To tell you a bit about my experience I have been a professional health care worker for over 16 years. My experience in healthcare motivated me to pursue my Associates in Nurse Education at NSCC from 2013-2015. In my care history, I have worked with a wide range of individuals with different needs such as dementia, Alzheimer's disease, muscular dystrophy, aphasia, anxiety, depression, stroke. I can assist with medication, appointments, immobility, transfers, incontinence, bathing, dressing, bed sores, meal prep, companionship, and organization. I enjoy assisting clients in activities such as physical therapy, memory training exercises, mental awareness exercises, community activities and happy to drive to medical appointments as needed. I believe it is important to encourage my clients to do things that make them feel connected to what's going on around them, such as with hobbies they used to love, even if in a different form now.
