I initially became a caregiver when my great grand father came to live with my family when I was sixteen years old. At first it was a family duty but it quickly became a career choice. I enjoy being a caregiver because I love and enjoy helping others. It is a very satisfying as well as gratifying position to hold because you are not just assisting the patient/client with their daily living but you are also helping their families and primary caregivers as well. Taking care of an elderly or disabled family member can be a very overwhelming and stressful experience, so being allowed to help families take a well needed break from their responsibility is a very rewarding position. I began my professional career as a caregiver in 1998. I worked for several clients through the private sector before becoming employed with a home healthcare agency in 2001. During my employment there I quickly became a Senior care associate, which not only allowed me the honor and privilege of caring for patients but I was also a trainer and supervisor of other caregivers. Becoming a training/supervisor is an achievement that I am truly proud of because it proved that I was very good at my job and that I took the position very seriously. I am highly competent and very professional caring and compassionate all of the qualities that every good caregiver should possess.

Skills & Certifications: Skin Disorders, Parkinson's Disease, Home Health Aide (HHA), Arthritis, Depression, Hearing Disorders, Vision and Eye Disorders, Home Health Care, Dementia, Alzheimer's Disease, COPD, Respiratory Disorders, Cancer Recovery, Stroke, Cardiovascular Disorders, Diabetes, Gastrointestinal Disorders, Hospice Care, Multiple Sclerosis, Neurological Disorders, Orthopedic Care, Post Surgery Recovery, Renal and Urological Disorders

(Pay is negotiable depending on care level needed) I'm a caring person naturally and I love to help others. This is partly what makes me a great caregiver. I have been caregiving for over 20 years and I find it very rewarding. I believe it is incredibly important work and treat it as such. I am also a CA Certified Massage Therapist and have been for approximately 10 years. I have a passion for the healing arts and am always learning more about healthcare in general. I'm very patient and kind. I'm honest and trustworthy. I'm observant, focused and detail oriented. I have an excellent work ethic and am punctual and responsible. I try to anticipate the needs of the person I care for and communicate clearly with family members to update them on daily activities. I like to clean and organize. I've been trained sanitation practices, nutrition, human anatomy, physiology and pathology. I'm physically strong and practise good body mechanics. I have many caregiving skills and have been around patients with a variety of needs. My greatest achievement, that I am grateful for, was the short time I was able to give care to my father in his last stage of life.

I am a very easy going, understanding, and compassionate person. I like to work with the elderly out of respect for them. They once worked hard, loved hard and were a hard working part of society as am I today. I believe in treating seniors with respect and honor as they should. When I was young my great grandmother got sick and was put on dialysis. I got training along with my grandmother to do at home dialysis and would take care of her. During her time on the machines we would talk and I admired her. In her younger years she was a struggling single mother of 4 and still got herself through nursing school to become head nurse at San Joaquin General Hospital. I look up to her as such a strong role model and aspire to do the same. I love sharing time with patients and being an ear to listen. I also love sharing my time. In my time as a caregiver and med tech I have gained many new friendships with not just the "patient" but with the family as I too genuinely care about their safety, health and over all well being. I am proud to have left every client with a great level of care and also a friendship. In my most recent company I made many benefiting changes in my department. I was given the opportunity to make procedures and paperwork easier for the rest of the staff. To this day I carry a great reputation with the remaining employees and still visit former patients.
