Being a caregiver for 12 years and loving this career! Ever-since being introduced to this career, I have acquired the passion and enthusiasm into taking care of, not only seniors, but people of all age groups who desperately require care and assistance and having to make them feel secure and happy in their own environment, homes and communities and making an impact in their lives so that they may get through each day with comfort and peace. I am very passionate with the work i do. I have taken care of several patients in the past from which i have had many different experiences with, which involved bathing, laundry, toilet assistance, hoyer lift, meal preparation, feeding, using feeding machine, medication, doctor/nurse visits, dental appointments and moreso with hospice cases.
A Professional Caregiver that had been working as a Caregiver for almost 30 years and I have done them all from A to Z. I am a natural born caregiver and I am fulfilling my heart's desire, passion, and calling to work in the field of aging. I am very compassionate, caring, committed, dedicated, loyal, trustworthy, and very ethical in my duty as a caregiver.
I enjoyed adding value, enhancing, and enriching every lives of every elderly that needs my service.
Caring for our senior population is the highest calling and only takes special people to do this line of work. I am one of them.
Studying Gerontology was an eye opening after working as a caregiver for many years and to actually get a formal education in the field of Aging is an added bonus. I have dozens of Certifications, already passed background checks with the California Department of Social Services and on their Registry, carry my own Professional Liability insurance as well as my own Bond besides meeting Carelinx requiremens to be on their site. I enjoyed working independently with families that needs my professional services.
My hobbies are Volunteering for Hospice, Long Term Care Ombudsman Services and many other organizations.
In my free time, I enjoyed writing, reading, going out camping, meditating, and simply finding the right balance to everything I do. I have co-authored two books but currently writing two of my own that talks about my personal journey as a caregiver and reaching my highest potential through personal development. One thing that brings the greatest fulfillment and happiness is providing direct care to clients that needs my professional services. I have been working with seniors and elderly clients with dementia and Alzheimer's condition for many years. I assisted in the activities of daily life including bathing, dressing, transferring, incontinence, meal preparations, feeding, medication reminders and doctor's visits, run errands, laundry, light housekeeping, and companionship. I also helped the seniors to have exercises routine, speech therapy, reading, arts and other recreational activities. I enjoyed my job and what I do because I know that I am able to help others and it is a very rewarding job. I'm a caregiver because I'm natural and at ease to help people, especially those in their senior years who are incapable of living independently .Some cannot actively function either because of health issues , and some may be just needed company to be able to cope with issues of growing in age. For the past 9years I have been a caregiver,Within those years I have venture out to get necessary traininning too to further serve my clients in a more comfortable, safest and , updated right procedures of carrying out my tasks, I find working in the environment of homes likeable and comfortable. To be able to work and do the very activities I like in my home example cooking, cleaning, gardening, arranging things neatly, and conversation with my clients is so interesting and leads me more to get to know them well. As they they share openly their upbringing, their likes and dislikes, their favourite past times, their favourite food, what ticks and things that irritates them.Out of this open and relaxed conversactions I will venture to serve with ease .With all my years of serving as a caregiver I feel that I have fulfilled an achievement by serving according to how they want to be treated, with respect and dignity,The bond that I always leave behind is always incredible that I normally receive letters of affirmation and appreciation of my service. I become close and be treated like family with family members and friends. What a satisfying feeling that I know I can do this kind of work with Love, Care, and a passion that only God knows how much I love what I do.
