I am a very friendly down to earth women of 61 years young. I have a vast array of professional experiences from recovering patients straight from the operating room that have had open heart surgery to caring for newborns. I had to retire in 2004 because I became very ill with lymphedema and a very painful bladder disease called interstitial cystitis. Being severely ill has made me even more caring and compassionate for anyone suffering from any illness. I like to incorporate family into my patient care as much or as little as the family member is comfortable. I believe that God allowed me to become ill so that I could become a very compassionate care giver. I actually CARE for my patients.

At the age of 18 I was introduced to caregiving. I am now 31 years of age and have continued my career path as a caregiver. I originally became a caregiver so that I could go in and care for my elderly disabled cousin when she first moved to my area, however I was never placed with her, but I was hired and placed with other clients and it was almost like second nature to me, I absolutely loved it so that's when I decided to take the caregiving career path. So far it has been a success and I've learned so much and am now able to care for many different types of cases with ease. My skills go beyond caregiving though, I also have worked in an emergency room as an emergency room technician which allowed me to gain more knowledge within the medical part of care. while I was working there, I acquired certifications in BLS/First Aid/AED use, EKG technician, Drug screening and breath alcohol testing, as well as picked up many skills in behavior health, orthopedics, heart care, stroke care, wound care, and so much more. My favorite thing about caregiving is knowing that I am there for those who were there for my generation and knowing that they are in great hands is just a couple of my favorite things about caregiving. Most of all I'd have to say, I absolutely love spending time with my clients and giving them the companionship that they need and deserve so that they do not have to worry about being lonely. The saying is true that people can die from loneliness and its heartbreaking knowing how many people do have to live without anybody in their lives. If I could be there for them all I would. I am always so happy to be in their presence knowing I'm making a difference in that person's life. It is a sense of fulfillment to me as if I am doing exactly what I was destined to do.

What makes me a great caregiver it's because I care about the person that I am giving care to an glad that I can be there for them when no one else can. I became a caregiver because as I was growing up I had to care for my great grandma when I was in high school. After I got out of School while my grandma went to work an I told her I wanted to help take care of people when I grow. I've learned a lot since I've been a caregiver know as DSW now

I have about 20 years of experience with the serving the elderly. I have provided daily care for the dying, the depressed, Dementia, Alzheimer's, Macular degeneration, Parkinson's disease, diabetes and mental challenge. I provided light lifting and transferring, bathing/hygiene, dressing, washing and setting hair, shaving, assisting and administering medications, preparing meals, and giving total care. I provided companionship, accommodate them to social events and appointments, light housework and light laundry. I am committed and passionate about anything that I am entrusted to do. Therefore, I put my heart and soul into it. I love people, I especially love taking care of the elderly. I have a caring heart and I actually get a thrill from helping others. This is my God given calling.

I believe in providing elderly with quality and passionate care. I've been doing this line of work for approximately 10 years. Throughout my work history I've learned that too do this line of work you have to be dedicated and compassionate, and I'm just that. I enjoy being able too bless the elderly with laughter, a genuine heart, and a room full of smiles, even when going through my own trials. I'm a honest, dependable, and reliable caregiver and I love being apart of providing families with the peace of mind of knowing their loved ones are well taken care of.

I have been a CNA for over 30 yrs single worked in hospitals hospic nursing home doctor office home heltth etc became a CNA in 1983 after my mother was ill knew then I wonted to help people love being a care giver cause the joy of helping someone get better or help them in their needs.
