Since I was a young girl, whether it be for my loved ones or the underprivileged, I have always had an innate concern for those in need. My inherent compassion for the livelihood challenges of others has developmentally led me to pursue an educational life-long career as a guidance counselor and health-care provider. What I have learned in my experience, when caring for any individual, is that each person's needs are distinct and should not be identified as like any other individual. When an individual is challenged in any capacity, demonstrating you care in getting to know them as a person, their strengths and limitations with personable kindness, compassion, and patience, can make all the difference to the individual and the family members who depend on you as an extension of themselves. Sometimes a simple smile can make a person feel more relaxed and willing to work with you as a caregiver to aid them with their inability of managing their own lives on their own. I am an optimistic energetic person. Always able to cheer up peoples loved ones during difficult times. I am loyal and reliable. I have been working privately on and off for a number of families starting at age 15. I have experience ranging from children with certain disabilities to sick adults. I had health problems that required some help when i was a young child. This is why i am happy and comfortable helping families in need.

I am a mature, friendly, intelligent and fun woman. I have been a caregiver to different family members and lastly to my own mother. She passed away in 2008 from Alzheimer's and liver cancer. I provided much of the care as my mother was a private person. It was rewarding and I learned alot with the AD support group. I am retired from a career as a health plan worker and would now like to help those in need of companionship, health plan knowledge for appointment setting, rides to appointments and other chores that they may need. I spent as much time as possible after retirement, at the nursing home where my aunt was living. I spoke of family history, showed her pictures, played her favorite music and took her out to the garden area. She loved flowers. There are many elderly who are in need of companionship and I am available to provide that.

I am a retired nurse with experience in geriatrics, pediatrics, mental health, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's and dementia. I am certified in many areas of nursing and fluent with many medical equipments including oxygen. I am very out going and love to laugh, cook, do laundry(yes, really!), And I take pride in my work.

I am real easygoing, friendly and love to help people in any way I can. I always have a smile on my face no matter what life throws at me, good or bad. I am very reliable, independent, a go getter, and have been in the medical field since 1985. I love to be there for people in need. I have always had a big heart in helping I enjoy putting a smile on my clients face. It makes my day when I can do that. I am very proud of having the opportunity in being able to be in the medical field as long as I have. I am proud to be CPR certified and have also been a certified nurse aid as well as a certified Dental Assistant and a volunteer at the University Hospital. Being a caregiver truly isn't for everyone, as for me I have to say I love what I do! I am very compassionate and caregiving has truly been a job that allows me to just simply be ME.
