What makes me a great caregiver is my eagerness to help others restore what they've lost by guiding them and redirecting. I became a caregiver not only because I had an elements in my life where I wasn't able to do for myself but because I no what it's like to not be able to perform certain tasks that i use to do. What I like about being a caregiver is the reward feeling I get when making someones day and those to words thank you A personal achievement that im proud of was when I didn't think I could finish and achieve my associates degree as a medical assistan with everything that was going on around me.

I personally became a caregiver for the opportunity of changes that were going on in my life at the time. My husband was diabetic and I had been caring for him. He has since passed away 6 years now. I've always related well with the elderly, perhaps alot to do with my father who was 20 years older than my mother. I kinda grew up with a grandfather I guess you could say. I also was married 14 years to my husband whom was 16 years my senior. I enjoy the company of others the stories they do tell fascinate me. I've always been very domesticated in all the work I've had in the past. Starting at the age of 15 with house cleaning with my neighbor. I continued out on my own with a cleaning business that lasted until my husband became to ill for me to continue at 100%. I had taken on caregiving two years prior, and after 30 years of cleaning something had to give, so I chose to stay with the caregiving. Although after cleaning for most of the clients I had 15 years plus, it was a very difficult decision to be made. They were like family to me and most still are. I enjoy helping others no matter the age or difficulties they may have. I've done care for diabetics, stroke, cancer, vascular brain disease, Alzheimers ,dementia parkinson patients. On occasion hospice care also. Ive lost my father, mother and now my husband to death, and although difficult at times I never seem to give up. I'm very dependable, honest, loving, caring and very passionate about the work I do. Really would love to get with a family long term if possible. Thanks for ur consideration. Sincerely, Teresa

I love providing home caregiving service and enjoying the opportunity to impact clients’ lives and make a difference to them. I appreciate the chance to get to know clients and their families and become an integral part of their lives to those that would otherwise not be able to do so. The smile on their faces is overwhelming and makes me feel I have done my job right. I have always enjoyed helping people so I know I am doing the right thing. I always give 100% and do the best job I can, with no exceptions or excuses. I also try to bring a sense of humor to my work. If I can add a smile or laugh to a client’s day, that means a lot to me. It is important to laugh.

I am a great caregiver because I have naturally been one most of my life. I became a caregiver because when I was in high school I began caring for my aunt who was disabled by assisting her with personal and medical needs. Then I was primary caregiver for my grandparents for the last 4 or 5years. I honestly love being a caregiver because it warms my heart to know that those who need assistance are receiving the proper care they need by an individual that will not take advantage of them. I started working for Home instead senior care two years ago and I love seeing individuals light up when I walk through the door and know that someone is there for them. I have a bachelors in social work and a Masters in Public health administration. I have a lot of experience working with people with dementia and disabilities.

I am a great caregiver because I go above and beyond for my patients. I have been doing this for over 12 years. I love the elderly because they all remind me of my own parents and they always have something new to teach me. I enjoy the fact that my patients always treat me with love and respect. We grow to become family. One of my greatest accomplishments was when I got my HHA certificate because I knew that's what I was meant to do in this life.
