I love to help people. I'm a people person and I enjoy being needed. I laugh a lot and can be nervous but I warm up to people quickly. I also love animals and do well with dogs. I became a caregiver because I have always wanted to take care of people. Helping people who are ill with their daily life and easing their stress is what I love most about being a caregiver but there are many things I enjoy about it. My personal achievement that I am most proud of is doing hospice for three plus years and enjoying it everyday. Knowing that I can ease the stress for people and their families during this stage in life is rewarding. I recently moved to North Carolina from Arizona and miss working. I'm a caring and knowledgeable CNA. I've worked with the geriatric population since I was 12! I started volunteering at the nursing home my mother was working at as the social worker. I've been a CNA since I was 18 years old. I'm very understandable about the effects of Alzheimer's and dementia and how it changes your loved one. I have said for years that working with "old people" is my calling. It's what I do best. I'm currently working on getting my nursing license but this will not interfere with my ability to be at work when I'm supposed to be. I'd love to care for your loved one!
