I have been caring for seniors in one capacity or another most of my life. I worked in a nursing home when I was 18 for about a year. Although it is not the career path I eventually followed, caring for people has always been something that I truly enjoyed. I was a volunteer at a local nursing home here in Cartersville, for several years. I have also cared for both of my elderly grandmothers, one of which lives with us now. After 10 years working in IT, I was ready for a change,. I graduated from Coosa Valley Tech with a certification as a CNA in 2009. I very much enjoy this work as it allows me to make a difference in peoples lives and make their last years more comfortable living in their own homes. After working for a very nice gentleman from 2009 until 2012, he passed away. I began working for a couple in their 80's and 90's. The wife had a stroke about 8 yrs. ago and required help with bathing, dressing, and ambulation. Unfortunately as time moved on they began to require someone 24 hrs. a day, which I am unable to provide. I helped them find someone to live-in and today was my last day. On to the next adventure.

It has always been a desire to help people. Making a difference in someone's life. I have learned that I am a leader, I have been lead caregiver for several of my patients in charge of scheduling, taking care of all household needs and total patient care. I started working in nursing home when I was 16yrs old and loved it I felt needed, and felt like I was making a difference.
