Being a care giver wasn't something I ever saw myself doing, but after getting a job to support myself in college, I found that it was something I wasn't just naturally great at, but that I enjoyed doing as well. Meeting people of different ages and backgrounds over the years has been such an amazing experience for me. I just love being able to get to know individuals, and being a light for them in an otherwise difficult world. I'm not the most outgoing person around, but I do have a knack for building deep relationships with those whom I care for. I've had more than one job where I come into work and I have 2 or 3 people immediately shout, "Michael is heeere!" It's such an amazing feeling when that happens, and I know it helps brighten up both their day and mine. I'm also someone who holds professionalism in the highest regard. As much as I enjoy building relationships with others, I always maintain those professional boundaries. I do my absolute best for those I work with, but I also realize that confidentiality is an extremely big deal, and that keeping their personal life separate from mine is of the utmost importance. As for my interests, I'm someone who enjoys reading, watching movies, gaming, learning about history, traveling, sports, cooking, and going on walks. I spent a few years working in labor and delivery and that helped me decide I wanted to make a difference and help others try to keep their independence by staying in their own home. I was absolutely not happy in 2012 when my dad was in a SNF and the care was not desired. He passed away at my home comfortably. I am a strong advisor for seniors and I am good with difficult clients and family members. I have a current CPR, BLS, 1 st Aid, food handling card and am hospice certified. I have reliable transportation, insurance and enjoy running errands, companionship, cooking, light housekeeping and overall helping others. I have excellent references and am seeking 1 full time position with a lot of hours or 2 part time. Ideally I would love a live in situation. My location shows Aumsville. My name is Desiree . I believe Caregiving is more then rewarding i feel like it is a achievement everyday. I feel i would be a great caregiver cause I am a excellent problumes solver in every way. Like with: Communication ,transferring ,meals ,Or anything i always say (there is always a way ). I love to make people happy, enjoy there self ,or have a good time and feel good about there self. That being said I did that all day long to my clients .I tried to always find ways to make things better for my clients ,or whats going to make them enjoy there day more. I loved working in a adult foster home got to spend much more one on one time which i feel like they enjoyed more . I like To clean and get things done in a timely manner so im able to do more with my clients . Ive exspirenced alot . Never let anyone feel scared or unsafe ive stayed up all night with many clients checkin vitals all night and just being there for them . In fact i did that with one guy he had alot going on but at this time it was respitory problume after a long night of being there by him checking vitals every 15 min and giving treatments calling on all nurse documenting i ended up sending him in that morning saved his life. My boss thought he was fine told me to go to bed . but i never left his side then i made the decision for him to go in he was in hospital for 2 weeks. I new then and now i truly have a heart and passion for care giving. I always did a 48 hour live in shift which was nice. at the end of my 6 years got hired as manager but we got shut down due to other issues of improper management before i got hired as manager.
