I started caring for both my parents but at different times when they were diagnosed with cancer yrs ago, my dad saw how I was with mom & from that time i also cared for him, he knew it was my calling & he was comfortable in my care. Then just within the past year I was able to care for my mother in law as well. I just feel compassionate about caring for others & it's such a rewarding experience everyday to know I'm making a difference in someone's life! The most rewarding experiences I recall is when new accomplishments are made & to see their faces show such excitement. There's always something to be thankful for at the end of the day,

I was caregiver for my dad for ten years he needed me to care for his daily needs. After his second brain surgery that he lost his long term memory. I couldn't mind since my dad cared for me when I was a baby to teen-years. So I couldn't turn my back on him. Plus as a nurse assistance it is my job to care for the client in their time of need. That I gave my dad the best care as a parent would give to a child. I am the mother of two grown children a son and a daughter and my son-In-law and two grandchildren Autumn and Gabriel. Hi! My name is Shenya I am currently a junior Nursing major at Georgia State University. My attraction to caregiving started with my grandmother who was ill most of my life. I helped my family out a lot when it came to her health. I helped her bathe, cook, made sure she took the proper medication for the day and also refill her medicine. I cared for her from 2012-2015.
