I would like to say I am very outgoing, self driven, motivated, and independent. Based on personal experience, I am attracted to caregiving due to the fact that assisting others in enhancing their daily quality of life - simply gives me a sense of purpose and satisfaction. Expressing gratitude and caring for others as I would want my own family cared for gives me a self realization that those of competent virtue still exist in this world - & I'm one of them!

Took care of my late husband and took care of my mother taught me how to be very patient and be more understanding and compassion. Having first hand experience is really eye opening and opening of my heart to the illness and the elderlies. My compassion is more so for the elderly. Helping and being with the elderlies , you learn alot about the clients as well as the family.

What I believe makes me a great caregiver is because I always go above & beyond for my elders & treat them like my own family. I'm a naturally caring person & that's what I do best. What attracted me to being a caregiver is I have volunteered in the ER with my grandmother, who is a RN & I loved the rush & learning, which led me to going for my CNA license which I accomplished in high school while taking college classes. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is the stories, the memories that I'll keep forever & helping people who need it. My personal achievement that I'm proud of is that I am a go getter. I've always went above & beyond my means, & I'll make sure I accomplish what I want. My goal is to become a Nurse Practioner.

Hi, everyone! I received my certification as a CHHA through my current employer, Help at Home, Inc. Nursing runs in my family's blood, my Grandma was a Nurse and my aunts are Nurses! While I've always dreamed of becoming a Nurse, I have decided to focus on work instead. Please don't hesitate to message me with questions or concerns you might have.

Hello! My name is Logan and I've been a caregiver for 7 years (longer if you count my personal life) - My brother has epilepsy and I always was a second caregiver to him as he started having seizures when he was only 8 years old, making me 3 months old at the time. I started young working as a PCA at an assisted living facility and after a year of being there I got offered an assistant managers position at Goldenrod, a group home for adults with disabilities. After being there for 3 months I was promoted to Residential Manager of the two homes I oversaw. I love working with people, putting smiles on their faces and more times than not them putting smiles on mine too! I realize this line of work is difficult for some people and it truly isn't for everyone but I believe that you should enjoy what you do especially when you spend so much time doing it and if I'm helping someone even a little, I've had a good day.

I have a BA degree in psychology and over 15 years experience in life span development, planning and care. I have spent much of my career working as a manager or administrator but I have found that I prefer working directly with the people I serve. I have since 2014, devoted my energy exclusively toward direct care. I have a strong work ethic, I am not afraid of long days and I am fond of starting and ending those days with a smile and a good attitude. I should also mention I have unique experiences for a lay caregiver. I have 5-10 years doing (in no particular order) g-tube feedings, using hoyer lifts, giving bed baths and showers safely, completing needs assessments, writing formal and informal goals, medication administration, attending doctors appointments, tracheotomy care, positioning for non-ambulatory or movement limited individuals, taking vitals, feeding individuals with dysphagia, preparing and cooking meals to meet the requirements of a mechanically specific diet (puree, mechanical soft, thickened liquids), and more. I really like caring for people and getting to know their particular style and personality. I have always enjoyed working with people with intellectual struggles and physical disabilities. On a more recreational side, I love to sing and if the people I care for like it, I will sing whenever it makes them happy (although I am not beyond using it to reward a good job eating at a meal or completing a difficult task!). I can be goofy or stoic depending on what works for the individuals I serve. Sometimes both if warranted. I am an avid student of motivational psychology and I am always up to the challenge of motivating others to do things that are safe and healthy.
